Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“My inspiration is nature with all the richness of detail, power, and magic.”

For Susanne, creation is a gift, where she allows herself to be led and quietly receive what comes to her. This gift gives her peace of mind and insights. Most paintings are not planned, but mostly the painting goes its own way. She paints intuitively with a lot of colors and play with depth, light and shadow. By letting go of control and having faith, dreamy motives emerge, often with a mysterious mood. A great source of inspiration is nature, with all its power and signs. Exploring another world, another dimension has always fascinated Susanne. Through the overlaps of the sheer transparent colors, she invites you to this secret world to see and experience the intangible but constantly present through the overlaps of the sheer transparent colors. Susanne wants to give space for the imagination to flow and wants to convey feelings that are beneficial to the mind and soul.

Susanne is fascinated by the thought of other dimensions, other worlds, other realities than what we see in our reality.
If such a world would exist, what would it look like. With stones built like a tower, it gives the illusion of a cityscape, or is it a landscape? She likes the dreamy atmosphere and maybe such a world exist in another Universe. The stones also represent the ability to be grounded and connected to the earth.

A memory from Susanne´s childhood is when her father and herself was painting at easels. They did not speak, just hang out separately, both concentrated on their own painting, it was quiet and still in the room. Susanne was painting roses in a vase, and it was easy and fun. When the painting was finished, she felt proud. It was her first memory of being in flow. It was so lovely to just disappear into the painting and be in another world. This feeling of exploring another world, another dimension has always fascinated her. She has always been a seeker and when she paints, she feels free and affirmed.

Who knows what occurs when a new world is being created. This is her idea of what it might look like. With a lot different shapes created, she wants to depict this with a joyful touch, with swirls and rounded shapes, which may be transformed to stars and planets.
She felt happy when she painted this, with flow and it was pure joy to let the paint drip, and create patterns as she went along. The painting was like an evolution of patterns.

At the age of 7, she won first prize in an art competition arranged by Jönköpings County Museum in Sweden. I remember walking up to the stage with a lot of people applauding and receiving the award from the Governor, feeling a little bit scared, but also very proud. An important message she wants to contribute is that we are not alone, there is hope. By focusing on what is beautiful in art and also in life, you become more calm in your mind and receptive to health-giving effects.

“In my watercolor paintings, I capture different natural worlds in a dreamlike state of mind.”

Nature is like a single weave, where everything is connected. Everything is tied together, such as the sun, nature, animals, and humans down to the smallest insects and bacteria. It is a fascinating thought, that in macrocosm there is emptiness between the smallest constituents, just as there is inside us, in the microcosm. It looks the same if you look from a big perspective or from a small perspective. We are all tied together, so similar and want the same things, peace, love and to be loved. She believes in kindness to one another, and humor. There is something bigger than us, who guides us through life. Synchronicity is one proof to her or just a feeling of presence, which she can feel when she paints sometimes.

“We are living in a world of wonders and hidden stories and by start looking behind the obvious, we can bring some magic in everyday life.”

She like to paint intuitively, her favorite motif is another world, such as a dream world or impressions from another dimension, another Universe. Sometimes you can sense something existential, in the shape of a bird, animal or something floating in the Universe. Another example of a different world is the ocean. Some of her paintings are like a reminder of something floating in the water, in a mysterious way. There is a lot beneath the surface to discover.

If nature could speak, what would it say? Maybe it would sing the most precious of songs? Or let us in on the secret of life?
She usually paint very intuitively and goes along as the painting evolves. The face was not planned, but showed itself while she was painting.

“I hope that my viewers get a feeling of being invited to a dreamlike and secret world, a world where they feel calm and remember the connection which has been lost.”

In nature things can transform and suddenly you can see something else than you did not see at first glanze. Maybe in a secret world there would be more than one planet and one sun. The white path that runs diagonally across the painting symbolizes the spiritual path.

The nature with its magic, the patterns of life forms and its so well-thought-out plan intrigues her. Every detail has a purpose, and everything goes in cycles, nature as well as we humans. It makes her curious, to find out more, paint more. She puts colors with a brush on paper with no plan or vision in mind and really enjoys painting freely and intuitively. It awakens a feeling of life and energy, and she feels that she is part of a larger context. She feels alive, feels presence, and become completely calm and focused, just enjoying this very moment of painting, being in a state of flow. She let the painting take its own path, look for patterns, feelings in combination with layout, composition, light and shadows, all to create a sense of harmony and mystery.

When she starts a painting she very seldom know the outcome. She paints intuitively and patterns or symbols show up. The white path that runs diagonally across the painting symbolizes the spiritual path. A flower also showed up and symbolizes beauty. Some things show up very often in her paintings, and one of them are trees. Trees symbolize life in perpetual evolution. The round shape reminds her of a spiral that symbolize the consciousness of nature starting from the core center and expanding.

Susanne Persson is an artist who lives and works in Malmö, Sweden. What started with first prize in a drawing competition at the age of 7 continued with art studies at Mullsjö Folk high school followed by five years at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, USA. There she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with the honorable mention Magna Cum Laude. This meant that in all the University´s fields of study, she was examined as one of the 8 best students through her grade, GPA 3.96 out of possible GPA 4.0.

In another Universe nature has the ability to transform itself to whatever it wants. A meeting is about to take place between a creature from nature and a flying bird coming from another world. What will the meeting be about? Underneath is a man, standing alone, but yet are not lonely. We might feel like we are lonely, but we might be surrounded by other creatures, which to us are not visible. Who knows who are watching over us.

In 2001, she started her company, Artiste Studio Vision and has, in addition to watercolor painting and calligraphy, also worked with design, ceramics and illustration. Susanne has participated in several calligraphy courses, including in Belgium and Ireland and also studied Japanese calligraphy in Japan. Today, she often teaches calligraphy courses and other art related classes. She is a member of Konstnärernas Riksorganisation KRO (The Artists' National Organization), Konstnärsgruppen Sydväst (Artist Association Southwest) and Nordiska Akvarellsällskapet NAS (Nordic Watercolor Society).

Three angels are showing up in the background and they will give you a secret message. Will you understand the message just for you to read. You are special. Susanne wanted to portray this in a dreamlike surroundings, as if this is part of a secret world.

“I want to awaken people to a different way of looking at life, getting in touch with their inner creativity, their intuition and core.”

Somewhere in another Universe, there might be a hidden place where you can rest your soul and just enjoying your true self. Stones represents passage of times. They have been here long before us and who knows what they have experienced.

Susanne has had over 60 art exhibitions in Sweden, Belgium, USA, Italy, England, both solo and group exhibitions. She has been commissioned as a jury member to assess works of art for art exhibitions. She has also been working as an art curator with art exhibitions for an Art Gallery and for an Art Organization. Three of her watercolors has been published in the art magazine “The Art of Watercolors.” In 2022 she won 3 prizes in juried international art competitions from USA.

Several dimensions opened up in this painting. The girl on the right enjoys the birds and creatures that show her happiness. In the foreground, nature grows, and the trees at the top represent another dimension. In the background there is a horizon that opens up another dimension.

Her watercolor paintings can be described as a quote from Lund diocese Åkersberg, Sweden: “Through the brittleness of the watercolor, the overlaps of the transparent colors, dreamy motifs are depicted with a mysterious atmosphere. In these secret worlds there is a feeling of freedom and Nordic magic. The intangible but constantly present which is interpreted differently depending on the viewer.”

Our ancestors who came before us have done their journeys, have done their paths, which symbolizes of the stairs. They watch over us. The bud symbolizes that it is now our turn who walks on this earth to discover our journey, our path in life.

“I want my viewers to be drawn into the painting, be positively touched, and engage by trying to understand what they see, feel, or think.”
