This 2026, TERAVARNA is all set to add another exciting and event-filled chapter to artBIAS IV, following its three successful collaborations with the Budapest International Art Shows at the Golden Duck Gallery in Budapest, Hungary. TERAVARNA announces open calls for worldwide artists to showcase their stunning creations at one of the most happening contemporary art fairs in Europe in recent times.
As before, the upcoming art show in Budapest will be held on 8th June 2026 at the premier Golden Duck Gallery, situated in downtown Budapest along the River Danube and within walking distance of the iconic Hungarian Parliament Building.
A rare opportunity awaits artists and creators worldwide to engage themselves in an extraordinary artistic confluence of talent, innovation, and contemporary artistry presented at a grand and thriving physical gallery in approaching summer time in Europe.
The leading gallery TERAVARNA has launched artBIAS4 Juried Art Competition 2026 to select the best of works to be showcased for free in Budapest, Hungary — to add to the vibrant show of artistic brilliance.
Artworks submitted for the Budapest International Art Show (artBIAS4) 2026 will be juried by respected panel of judges, so that the best works have the chance to connect with Europe's picturesque art scene, network with fellow artists, and engage with a creative environment that enhances talent and art appreciation while boosting global visibility.

Theme
The theme of the 4th Budapest International Art Show (artBIAS IV) is ‘OPEN.’ Artists are welcome to show their talents in any theme or category, representational or abstract styles, using the medium of their own choice. To ensure that your artwork gets selected in the jurying process, it is recommended to submit multiple artworks for better clarity and vision.
Please note that you must be 18 years of age to participate in any of our events.
We invite any visual art for the submission including painting & mixed media, photography & digital art, and sculpture & 3D installation. Note: No AI art is welcome.
Awards & Prizes
Selected artists from this open call will enjoy a free showcase at the fair and can sell their artworks at the 4th Budapest International Art Show (artBIAS IV) to serious collectors and art buyers. There are no hidden charges for display at the prestigious art show in Hungary.
The 4th Budapest International Art Show (artBIAS IV) to be held at the Golden Duck Gallery, in downtown Budapest, Hungary expects a heavy foot traffic of visitors during the month-long fair, a warm summer gateway for art lovers, maximizing the chances of sales and exposure for our participant artists. The winning artists will get media attention, extensive promotion in local news channels, TV and media, and grab global attention.
Juried and selected artists will be provided with Certificates of Recognition.
For artists unable to attend the artBIAS IV exhibition in person or ship their works to the venue, we also offer an option for digital display of winning artworks on a large TV monitor, so that no one misses the grand showcase at the Golden Duck Gallery, Budapest.

Exhibition Ends
Participating artists may ship their unsold artworks to their respective addresses or place them in gallery storage for ongoing exhibitions at other European venues after the fair ends.
Fees
The entry fee for each artwork is $29 (non-refundable).
If you'd like to enter more than 10 artworks for consideration, please go back to fill in your details and submit them again.
There are early-bird discounts of $10 on entry fees if submitted within January 15, 2026.

Artists can submit more than 10 artworks to provide a clear and cohesive understanding of the artist's portfolio in a physical art gallery setting. The jury will look at the entire body of work for better evaluation.

Winners also have the opportunity to pursue art residencies in Europe after this exhibition. This is a great prospect for emerging and established artists who want to prominently showcase their work internationally.

We recommend opting for giclée canvas printing for artists living abroad to have a smooth and hassle-free experience. We will need a high-resolution image of your artwork to get it printed on a premium fine art canvas for display at the fair.

Artworks painted on materials other than stretched canvas will need to be framed because they cannot be exhibited without a frame. We can frame them in Budapest for a nominal framing fee, depending on the size of the canvas

Shipping and insurance for original works are the artist’s responsibility. Detailed instructions will be provided to winners shortly after their selection. The instructions will contain information on how to send the artworks abiding to Hungarian customs so that artists are not immediately taxed on imports. All packing and labeling instructions will also be provided to the artists after the winners are announced.

artBIAS does not have any other associated gallery fees.
P.S.: Only artists chosen by an independent jury from the pool of applicants will have the opportunity to showcase their works at the art show in Hungary. TERAVARNA does not guarantee cash prizes for participants for any of its competitions.
