BULGARIA

“I paint to expose what still trembles beneath the surface.”
Vesela Hadzhiyska is a Bulgarian visual artist and fine art photographer whose work is marked by profound emotional depth, surreal imagination, and a refined sense of conceptual clarity. With a Master’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations, she brings a unique fusion of strategic insight and poetic visual sensibility to her art. Her multidisciplinary practice spans acrylic painting, mixed media, dry pastels, and contemporary conceptual photography, all unified by her commitment to symbolism, inner transformation, and aesthetic purity.
Wolves | Acrylic
$2,000
39.37 X
Two wolves—light and dark—sit back-to-back in a psychological battlefield, while chess pieces scatter across the canvas like fallen strategies. This powerful image channels the inner duality between instinct and control, echoing the timeless Cherokee parable: “Which wolf wins? The one you feed.”
Her artistic vision is rooted in a desire to reveal the unseen, the emotional undercurrents that lie beneath surface appearances. In her paintings, abstract figures often melt into organic shapes, evoking the interconnectedness of human experience and the natural world. Recurring symbols such as roots, flowers, and flowing representations of time reflect her ongoing exploration of inner landscapes and psychological depth. Her style draws from surrealism, symbolism, and abstract minimalism, resulting in works that are immersive, introspective, and emotionally resonant.
Masks | Acrylic
$500
Through surreal scenes and symbolism, the paintings tell stories of instincts, masks, desires, and battles that unfold beyond the visible. Each creature in this universe carries a message—about the irony of the modern world, the mysteries of the subconscious, and the power of inner dialogue. The colors, forms, and moods create a space where the viewer can encounter their own “beasts.”
Photography offers Vesela another medium through which to express similar themes. She often uses elements from nature including texture, decay, and organic forms as metaphors for renewal, memory, and ephemeral beauty. Her experimental techniques, including freezing flowers, marbling, and capturing macro perspectives, help her construct images that are simultaneously intimate and otherworldly. These works function as visual poems, gently urging the viewer to pause, reflect, and connect with their own inner truth.
"My work begins in silence and ends in surrender."
Her portfolio has earned her numerous international accolades in both photography and painting. She has been awarded Gold and Silver distinctions in globally recognized juried exhibitions, a testament to the emotional and visual power of her work. Her creations have been exhibited in London and selected by curators and galleries known for valuing innovation and emotional authenticity. Her paintings have been described as hauntingly harmonious and charged with symbolic gravity, while her photographic series are often praised for their tactile intimacy and transcendental quality.

When Fish Fly | Acrylic
$1,000
This composition is a meditation on memory, loss, beauty, and observation. The skull among the petals grounds the ephemeral with a whisper of mortality.
A surreal allegory of destiny and duality.
A fusion of sensuality and mystery, the painting unveils the silent choreography behind human experience—where A female figure stands between two black bulls beneath a celestial clock, caught between instinct and awareness. The red earth symbolizes primal power, while the Roman numerals suggest cosmic order. This work evokes the eternal tension between light and shadow, decision and fate.

Time | Acrylic
$500
Themes of transformation, both personal and collective, recur throughout Vesela’s body of work. She is particularly inspired by the idea of returning to the self, rediscovering beauty, vulnerability, and inner strength through the creative process. Her pieces often appear in the form of diptychs or triptychs, symbolizing dualities such as chaos and serenity, decay and rebirth, or sound and silence. This multilayered format reflects her view that art should not only be experienced but contemplated, offering multidimensional insight and openness to individual interpretation.
“I do not aim to resolve emotion. I hold it until it reveals a form. My art is shaped by surrender, not control.”
"I do not enter the studio with a clear intention. I enter with a question that has no words. My hands follow what I cannot explain. Sometimes it is a memory. Sometimes it is the way light touches something broken. I work through layers because truth is not found in the first attempt. I need space, stillness, and time to listen. My paintings are not created to be understood quickly. They ask for reflection. They carry parts of me that are too raw to speak. I use symbols because they do not limit what feeling can hold. I do not chase beauty. I wait for it to emerge naturally, when the work becomes more honest than I expected. That is when I know it is complete."
Each piece Vesela creates is born from a space of inner listening and quiet reflection. Her studio is a sanctuary of intuitive exploration, where philosophy and material merge into a harmonious and almost alchemical process. Whether she is applying brushstrokes or capturing a frame, her practice is guided by a deep devotion to form, feeling, and fluidity. This meditative approach allows her to create works that feel alive and emotionally engaging.

Choice | Acrylic
$1,000
This conceptual piece explores randomness and control through a symbolic game of dice and cards. The composition is divided diagonally, revealing opposing realms—one of intuition and one of action. Fish trapped within clockwork gears hint at subconscious time loops and the free will.
In her visual language, Vesela balances the deeply personal with the universally accessible. Her work speaks to timeless human concerns while remaining grounded in contemporary aesthetic discourse. Through the subtle interplay of color, texture, and composition, she constructs visual experiences that invite contemplation, connection, and emotional resonance. Her ability to blend the intuitive with the conceptual gives her art a rare poetic quality.

Passion | Acrylic
$750
Sensual and vibrant, this pop-art piece celebrates pleasure and indulgence. A glass of red wine, a cluster of grapes, and lush, expressive lips create a scene of temptation and richness. A bold homage to appetite—in both the physical and emotional sense.
Currently based in Bulgaria, Vesela continues to expand her creative practice while preparing a new body of work. These forthcoming pieces seek to bridge timeless artistic motifs with a modern sensibility, staying true to her belief that art is both reflection and revelation. Each new work builds upon her evolving dialogue with symbolism, form, and transformation, offering viewers a glimpse into the sacred and the sensory.
A majestic rooster strides forward, offering an egg to an ethereal feminine presence. Surreal and mythic, this work speaks of creative power, non-linear fertility, and the merging of masculine and feminine archetypes. The narrative is both humorous and deeply symbolic.
