Steffi Rodigas

GERMANY

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“Growing up in the Thuringian glassblowing town of Lauscha, my life was characterized by various jobs and raising my three children.”

On her first trip to New Zealand, Steffit Rodigas decided to change her life. At the age of 58, she left her financially secure job behind and paved her way to freedom—the freedom to do what had been burning inside her all her life. Art finally got the space it needed in her life.

Joy of life | Oil

$800

20 X 20

Children are our future! There is nothing more beautiful than the carefree laughter of a child. Playing, being happy, playing with a balloon. It is important that children all over the world can grow up in peace and enjoy life without fear or hunger!

At that very moment, a person who believed in her and her talent came into her life. Her partner strengthened her self-confidence and her belief in herself. The constant support has been a pillar of strength in Steffi’s life, both for her personal growth and for her art.

Joy of life II | Oil

Children are our future! In my artwork, I have used oil paints to capture the image of a radiant child playfully interacting with water. The figurative representation and realistic technique emphasize the innocent joy and pure liveliness of the moment. This painting radiates the carefree energy of childhood and brings an atmosphere of hope and happiness to any room.

From then on, nothing could stop the artist. Her head was full of ideas and motifs that just had to be realized. And that's exactly what she has been doing almost every day since then, from morning to night.

“No matter what I am "bringing to life", I devote myself to it with all my heart and passion.”

The artist gave free rein to her creativity and began to translate the overwhelming and magnificent impressions of her travels to New Zealand. This was followed by animals in acrylic and later in oil paint.

Fun! | Oil

$900

20 X 20

What could be better than a child's smile! Summer, sun, water, fun, lots of reasons to be happy, which can be read in the girl's face. I have captured the energy and joy of childhood in my oil painting. The bright colors and playful smile reflect innocence and pure joie de vivre. The background with playful motifs emphasizes the fantasy and dream of being carefree. This artwork brings a wave of cheerfulness and warmth to any home. It is an ode to the carefree moments of life.

In my artwork, I have captured the essence of childlike joy and innocence in oil. With figurative representation and realistic style, it shows two radiant children surrounded by pure happiness. Colors and light play together to create a warmth that will fill any home. Every detail, from the butterfly to the little pig, has been carefully chosen to tell a story of happiness that touches the heart.

Art gives her the opportunity and the freedom to process her thoughts and opinions. This has resulted in many works on the problems of this world. In 2018, she summarized the catastrophic consequences of climate change in the "Climate Apocalypse.”

“With a saw, cutter knife, sandpaper, and a lot of dedication, I bring my sculptures to life, which I often decorate with elaborate pouring techniques.”

“The Dalai Lama was my first large portrait. His mischievous smile was infectious and I had a lot of fun painting him. Many expressive portraits have been created since then. Meaningful photos by M. Linsmann, A. Aydemir, and the world-famous Steve McCurry often serve as my models.”

She denounced the careless use of water in the three-dimensional depiction "If the oceans die, we die too" and some of her other works. Themes such as the flooding of the media, the exploitation of the Amazon region, the shredding of chicks, and global politics filled her canvases in a similar way.

The sound of the sea | Oil

$700

16 X 20

A romantic sunset by the sea, the landscape bathed in a golden light. The sea of colors surrounds us with a comforting warmth that radiates peace and serenity. With our feet in the sand, we look out over the waves to the lonely buoy and enjoy the sound of the sea. This work of art is intended to convey strength and hope and create an atmosphere of passion and dynamic beauty in every room.

She also developed an independent art form that she called "Art in Art". The origin of this lies in my own found place in the form of squares, circles, birds, or feet. Art in Art is an overall result that is made up of individual small works of art, each of which has its own colorful meaning that can inspire the imagination.

A ship wil come | Oil

$700

16 X 20

A ship, romantically transfigured, gliding along in a landscape, real or fantasy! Everything is bathed in a warm evening light and creates a cozy atmosphere. The deep golden light of the sunset reflects on the calm water, symbolizing hope and the infinity of the moment. The sailboat in the center, surrounded by soft glow, represents the journey of life and the beauty of moving forward. This realistic work brings a warm, life-affirming energy to any home.

During the pandemic, she turned to watercolor painting, mainly for reasons of space. Numerous tutorials and instructional videos with a wide variety of approaches have accompanied the path to her own style.

Spring, finally fresh green everywhere again. The sun makes its contribution and warms the landscape and the heart. A landscape in Mecklenburg with hills, valleys and numerous rapeseed fields scattering their delicate yellow to green. An old mill towers lonely on a hill, its active days behind it, but an eye-catcher for every passing traveler. The sky is clear and your thoughts are free!

“It is important to me that a portrait tells a story.”

Winter evening | Oil

$700

16 X 20

Wintertime is a dark time. The sun sets early, but with its last strength it makes everything glow in wonderful colors. The light blanket of snow that has covered the meadows and forests appears like a soft shell. The view of a snow-covered winter landscape in Thuringia radiates peace and tranquillity. The colors of the sky are reflected in the fields of snow. Painted on a canvas panel.

The mask of the clown-like puffins depicted is colorful. With its triangular, colorful beak, orange feet and black and white head with a reddish eye ring, it is unmistakable. The bird, which is about the size of a pigeon, is mainly at home in Scandinavia and Iceland. They belong to the alcids, which replace penguins in the northern hemisphere. Among them, the colorful puffin is one of the most conspicuous and popular species. The puffins live in large groups and are affectionate and tender with

Wolf's night |Oil

$500

12 X 12

It is night, the glowing moon looks down mystically on the landscape. In the foreground sits a mother wolf with her pups. She howls at the top of her lungs, the twins imitate their mother and put their backs into it. The love and harmony between the three is palpable. The realistic depiction reinforces the connection between the animals and the viewer, while the figurative element emphasizes the raw emotion and social bond of the wolves. This artwork exudes the energy of the wild and brings a pi

“I love working in three dimensions. Sometimes elements expand my pictures and I make sculptures out of building insulation material”
