Simone von Anhalt

GERMANY

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“I am not limited by the formal dimensions of artmaking and choose instead to capture the feelings of time and momentariness.”

Simone von Anhalt was born in Munich, Germany, but emigrated as a young girl to Brazil. During her several years living there, she was markedly affected by local culture; the people’s souls and love for nature remain with her today.

Sky Journey | Acrylic

$4,600

55 X 59

Sky Journey is a symbol of our inner Journey. We are floating energy with our own mission and direction. The color blue stands for the divine and gold is the light and sun in us.

Now living once again in Munich with her family, Von Anhalt’s work is distinctly inspired by her childhood in Brazil in addition to her various travels and the works of her father, revolutionary German painter Jürgen Prinz von Anhalt, the inventor of Jet Art–a form of painting that involves using the air stream of a jet engine.

Heat | Acrylic

$6,300

55 X 74

Heat and fire, the healing flames are sometimes necessary to let go the old and make a restart in life.Red the color of power and passion symbols that everything will fall im place and gives us the confidence that with power and strength we will make it.

Von Anhalt’s canvases often focus on gradations of a single color, harmonizing them with languid forms and brushstrokes such that each canvas captures the soulful spirit of Brazil she cherishes so deeply.

“My works talk silently, touching others with their expressive color and size!”

Her paintings connect the viewer with their inner being, unfolding reflective and personal emotions within us. Von Anhalt prefers to work in utter solitude, neglecting outside forces to channel her own inner self onto the canvas.

Dreamland | Acrylic

$3,300

43 X 55

Dreamland -the land beyondIt leads us into our own world. It reminds us that there should be always time for dreaming our lifes. The color purple signifiesour own spirituality.

Stellaris carries a message, that there are plenty of planets in the universe. It is always a question in us- is there life out there? It is so mystic, like life is. The viewer has room for his own interpretation of what is beyond. Silver represents the moon and purple reminds us about our spirituality

She employs acrylic mixed with pigments, gold, sponges, and palette knives to create these lush canvases. Her studio acts as her refuge, and, as a result, her paintings allow the viewer to take refuge in the way they capture peace and encourage subjective emotion.

“My father was an artist and so was my aunt, so I grew up surrounded by creativity.”

“My Journey in the art world was a slow process. It was more like an unfolding, an awakening due to the circumstances of my life.”

Through family circumstances, she lived in Rio, Brazil during her teenage years, and this really influenced her life. Growing up in a Brazilian family taught her more than just the language.

Out of the Grey | Acrylic

$6,000

59 X 67

Even when it seems to be all grey, lights are showing up always in life and break through easily. Lets always be prepared for something unplanned and be open for surprises.

She was able to really get in touch with their culture and experience how deep the spirit of this country is, especially through nature and the soulful people.

Sweet & Spicy | Acrylic

$6,000

59 X 67

Keeping the balance is a huge part of our inner harmony, even when the opposites are working strong against each other we should allow acceptance, the healing tool. It leads us to inner happiness. Purple , symbol of spirit and orange symbol of high energy.

She didn’t know then what a huge impact it would make on how she expresses herself in her paintings today. She’s always loved to express her feelings through creativity, translate emotions and make them visible, reaching out to people’s hearts.

Mainstream is very dominant nowadays in our society. Let's have an eye on what we really want to achieve in life and observe the mainstream around us, for being joyful and happy by living our authentic power.

She mostly expresses herself through color, the healing aspect of emotions, something that happens unconsciously. Her father made her think widely and was the perfect inspiration for her. His message was ‘everything is possible, no limits no frames’.

So many things in life we are not able to see, it is just invisible for us. The color yellow stands for wisdom, enlightenment and spiritual brightness. Lets make the invisible visible.
