“Her abstract style draws attention to color first and then pulls the viewers eyes deeper into the art with the intuitive movement of paint.”
Sherry Swafford Page began her full-time art career in the winter of her life about seven years ago following a lifelong career in the field of humanities. When she was studying in college, she took some art courses while majoring in psychology and graduated with a Masters in Psychology and Counselling. After college her dream for creating art was put on hold as she raised her two children and began her career.
Heart Bleed | Acrylic
$575
I painted this intuitive abstract expressionist piece with layered darker undertones to enhance the reds that express the emotional heartache of an ending love!
She lived in big cities and in rural America while working her career and raising her children. She began painting after retiring and moved to South West Florida where she currently resides. Living in South Florida next to the Estero River with huge oak trees, hanging moss, beautiful palms and colorful floral foliage lends to her inspiration for her art.
She He Kiss | Acrylic
$545
I painted this Intuitive abstract expressionist painting using darker shades for the background and completed it using broad strokes of reds and blues. I think the movement of the colors gives the feeling of a passionate kiss when meeting one's lover.
For over years following her retirement, she experimented different styles in painting and finally her passion for colorful expressive abstract flourished. She became confident in her style and now paints contemporary art. Being mostly self-taught she paints acrylic abstract expressionist art in a unique way visually portraying unspoken words and feelings on canvas.
“Through her art she sends the message that life is a journey and we must always move forward to the future taking each day as a growing and learning experience.”
During her career, she helped others to process their experiences and express their feelings concerning troubling events. She hopes others who enjoy her art connect visually and emotionally creating self-awareness of life itself. Instinctively she creates very unusual contemporary abstracts which are inspired by personal experiences.

Frog leap | Acrylic
$395
I painted this contemporary expressionist painting of heavy shades of greens and blues inspired by frogs around my home. I feel the movements in the strokes gives the feeling of excitement when you see an old friend!
My contemporary expressionist painting of vivid magenta tones flowing in floral patterns was inspired by flowers I received. I think it expresses romantic feelings and the gentle touch of caressing.

Romancing | Acrylic
$485
Sherry's unique abstract paintings are created applying acrylic paints in various shades and colors to set the tone of the art. She Intuitively moves with painterly strokes using brushes and tools to give the work texture, depth, dimension. and mood. She masters her unique style using blending and contrasts of color. After completing background layers then the process takes on different forms and shapes.
“Creating abstract expressionism is her way of relating her experiences and reactions even though sometimes painful did not stop her journey.”
“Through her art, she wants to share with others, the attitude about life and inspire people that no matter what happens in your life it’s important to never give up.”
Many colors of paint in the foreground adds to the viewer processing their own ideas. She instinctually forms abstract shapes varying in sizes and colors to raise more curiosity that hopefully the viewer will observe the art more closely. This deeper observation of the piece creatively encourages the viewers mind to form opinions and perceptions. The thoughts and opinions about the abstractness of the expressionism captivates the mind as it processes those thoughts that may evoke the viewers feelings.

Crossroads | Acrylic
$490
This expressionist painting of bold brush strokes crossing on top of layered darker tones reminds me of streets on the same corner, it portrays much like streets going the same way but with different street names. This piece is expressing the mood of indecision often felt when making life changes.
Intuitively as Sherry created the work of art, she recalls the experiences that evoked the emotions she felt during that event in her life. It may require her to ponder or relax for a while to sense her feelings related to a certain incident or experience before she begins to paint. Then she may take days painting, viewing and stewing over the piece to feel confident the art is complete.

Bad moments | Acrylic
$475
I painted this Intuitive contemporary expressionist painting using fun colors of blues and rose tones. Then randomly I made black bold marks to express the let down feeling when something suddenly happens to spoil the fun of an event.
She wants her art to convey about her life's journey and share with those who relate to the messages of self-awareness, love, joy, pain, endurance and perseverance. She encourages others to never give up no matter what comes to you in life through her abstract expressionist art. Sherry’s art career is the new chapter in her life and she desires to share her thoughts, feelings and experiences with others using her unique style of painting abstract expressive modern creations.
I painted this abstract expressionist painting with shades of yellows and violets on layered darker background. Not many flowers express the mood of summertime love in the south like the yellow rose.

Texas yellow rose | Acrylic
$550
“It is not uncommon for her to totally redo a painting if she thinks the visual hasn't portrayed the feelings as she desires in the piece of work.”

Crazy love | Acrylic
$385
This contemporary abstract painting of shaded tones of rose and turquoise on layers of darker shades is inspired from listening to my grandson talk about young love. I painted this piece to express the light hearted feeling of infatuation and new romance.
As an emerging new artist with unusual and unique talent Sherry's work is being accepted and admired by peers and art lovers. She hopes others relate to her work and gain a sense of self-awareness when viewing her art. Her art continues her journey in life as she visually shares in abstract form her reactions to life's experiences.
I painted this intuitive abstract expressionist painting with brushed shades of yellows, greens, grey with black to add depth . Then to add emphasis are interspersed blots of white. The depth and smashes intensifies the feeling of trying over and over again to accomplish an important task.

Blues | Acrylic
$675
I painted this contemporary expressionist abstract in shades of blue, gray and tones of black using lots of intuitive movements. I was inspired by the wind, grey sky and the moving of the ocean water. This piece expresses the intensify of the lonely feeling of being depressed and confused.
“Her art is about an openness of the soul and a vulnerability of the heart and she desires that other will relate or try to understand this part of life she has shared.”
