Rita has been on a long artistic journey. It started with big, colorful paintings on different types of paper. Then, she made art using construction materials to create geometric shapes. Recently, she has gone back to making smaller art on the same kind of paper she used in the beginning.

Rita has been doing this for many years. She began by showing her work in local art exhibitions. Later, she was chosen to be represented by famous galleries in Las Vegas during the 1980s and early 1990s. Some of her artwork is now in public and private collections around the world.

Instead of finding ideas in the bright and shiny city where she lives, Rita looks to the natural beauty of southern Nevada. She spends a lot of time exploring the urban and desert landscapes there. The colors, shapes, and textures of nature inspire her.

Resilience – Reflects the spirit of way-finding, through diligence and practice.
Rita's approach to her art is marked by a curious spirit, a willingness to take risks, and a recognition that sometimes, there may not be a clear resolution. She values the adventure of the creative process over a predetermined conclusion. Her approach is akin to throwing spaghetti on the wall and seeing what sticks, necessitating the abandonment of any "preciousness" associated with materials.

During the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, Rita started making smaller art. She used calm colors and only three colors at most in each piece. Over time, her art became brighter and more energetic. As she experimented, she discovered new ways to make her art special. Some of these new tricks are still used in her art today.
