USA

"My art is where the past meets my evolving present."
Ravell Robinson has devoted his life to building a time machine of imagination—one that transports him to a magnificent wonderland. Through paintings rich in color and creativity, he strives to recapture that first moment of wonder we all experience when discovering how marvelous the world can be. His artwork portrays vibrant landscapes populated by fantastic creatures, extinct animals, and mythical beasts that live and thrive with concerns, both great and small, that reflect our own.
Leadership Mindset aka Demonic Ambition | Acrylic
$4,500
40 X 30
This painting was made in 2020; around 7 months before the January 6th Insurrection took place. but it speaks a lot in the aspect of the events that led up to World War 2. A government, and a complete national takeover.
That snowball effect turned into a cataclysm that took over 80 million lives.
Picasso painted Guernica, because Francisco Franco, along with Adolf Hitler's aligned Axis forces.
The Axis Bombed the town of Guernica on April, 26th 1937.
We are reliving history.
Born and raised an hour north of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ravell—also known as RavellXIV—is an autistic, self-taught artist who spent years seeking the right medium to share the vivid stories in his head. Working primarily in acrylics, he starts with a story, idea, or theme, and uses a palette of bright primary colors—often straight from the tube—to render his visions. His approach to drawing is bold and intuitive, shaping creatures and forms based on his internal vision and symbolic language.
Ursa Major | Acrylic
$10,545

This painting depicts a bear under the stars, along with Saturn, during a solar eclipse. It takes place in the woods because Space as a whole is easier to view, without a lot of light polution.
Also, please don't forget your bear spray.
Every element within his paintings is intentional—some descriptive, others decorative, but all contribute to the narrative. These details serve to guide the viewer through the story embedded in each canvas, creating a richly layered experience that blends fantasy, emotion, and insight. Ravell’s goal is not just to present imagery, but to offer an immersive world where viewers can reflect and relate.
"I paint vivid worlds to time-travel through wonder and myth."
He draws inspiration from iconic artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and Keith Haring. Yet perhaps even more influential is the expansive history of life on Earth, which he reveres deeply. His childhood dream of becoming a paleontologist now fuels his art, as he merges great beasts of the past with symbols from contemporary culture. This blend of timelines, he believes, is where his past meets his present.

Lair of the Pentapus aka Sea Goddess wind | Acrylic
$14,959

This painting describes my fascination with mystery of oceans and their myths that have grown up around them.
An octopus hunts a nautilus beneath a narwhal as it swims below an emerging goddess.
I just wanna admit before I even start describing anything, this painting was inspired by a cartoon that I used to watch as a kid; The name was Babar]
This painting depicts the great-grandson of King babar. He is next in line for the throne, but he doesn't want to be king. So instead of a regular Crown it seems to be a mohawk that looks like a Crown. He does eventually become king but this is his only royal photo.

Rebellious Prince | Acrylic

Ravell sees the life of an artist as an infinite journey of imagination—one that never repeats the same way twice. Each new artistic experience reveals something different, and that sense of continual discovery is what makes the creative process so meaningful. For him, the most beautiful part of being an artist is the excitement that arises each time he embarks on that journey.
“Being an artist means entering a world that constantly changes; every time I return, imagination surprises me with new emotions, new meanings, and new beauty to discover.”
"As an artist, I believe that the most powerful work comes from real-life experiences. When people admire my art, they're not just looking for something beautiful—they're searching for something they can connect with. That’s why I draw inspiration directly from my own life. It helps viewers step into the same mindset I was in when I created the piece. I think that connection is what makes the experience meaningful. To me, art isn’t about setting limits—it’s about breaking through them. The only limits that truly exist are the ones we place on ourselves. In art, there should be no boundaries, because there's always something new and different waiting to be created. An artist’s perspective is often the first thing to break the mold—it all comes down to how deeply you're willing to perceive. Perception is incredibly malleable. Even when you think you can’t see it, it’s still there—because you're not seeing it with your eyes, you're seeing it with your mind."
His work is also shaped by lived experiences. He believes that people don’t just want to admire beautiful visuals—they want to connect. When inspiration is drawn directly from personal truths, it allows the audience to inhabit the emotional space from which the art was born. That connection deepens the experience for the viewer and brings authenticity to the work.

St. Jeffrey of Toys | Acrylic
$6,592
30 X 24
This painting depicts a Giraffe in a red garb, and glasses, with a Roman Catholic inspired Halo, which reads Saint Jeffrey of Toys; and on the side it reads confessions of a 90s kid. This painting was inspired by the closing of the toy store called Toy's R" Us. The reason why it has a religious feel about it is because as kids that grew up in the 70s, 80s, or 90s, we knew that Toys R Us was our Mecca in a way. Because it truly did allow us to be a kid.
To Ravell, art is about breaking limits. He rejects the idea that creativity must be bound by rules or external definitions. The only limits that exist are the ones we impose on ourselves, and art should always remain open to new forms and ideas. He sees perception as the ultimate tool—fluid and flexible—because we don't just see with our eyes, but also with our minds.

Colorado Summers | Acrylic
$12,545
40 X 30
This painting is my interpretation of my journeys across Colorado, which I love and visit almost every year.
An adult and child river otter are relaxing in the mountains as a raptor flies overhead.
He completed his first painting on January 3, 2015, and instantly recognized that this was his life’s path. Since then, he has embraced every challenge as a lesson in patience and determination. From his first show at the Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge to his debut Los Angeles exhibition, RAW Verve, in 2016, each milestone affirmed that he had made the right choice. That show, in particular, confirmed for him that his vision and direction were valid.
I have been obsessed with ancient animals and time since childhood so as an adult I want to bring my modern eyes to this ancient past. While this painting takes place at Badlands National Park, the creatures depicted lived over 30 million years apart.
T-Rex stalks a Brontotherium (a type of ancient Rhinoceros)

One of my favorite places is the La Brea Tar Pits so when I had my first art show in Los Angeles I paid a visit that became the inspiration for this painting.

Ravell has committed himself entirely to making the world aware of the innovation he brings through his work. Even when exhausted or creatively blocked, once he begins painting, the process takes over—and he can’t stop. That persistent drive flows through every piece he creates. He attributes his growth to passion and resilience rather than formal education, which he has consciously chosen to avoid.
This image takes place aboard a train ride through a rural Japanese cherry blossom forest. The colors present the mood on the train within the beautiful emptiness of the forest.
Cherry blossom trees bloom in a cemetery.

Sakura Moonlight | Acrylic
$21,349
40 X 30
He believes art education can sometimes drain an artist’s passion and create dependence on external validation. Ravell values imagination above all else—it keeps us youthful and unshackled by rigid reality. To him, imagination expands what realism cannot reach. As a final reflection, he shares a personal detail: he was born exactly 14 years to the day after Pablo Picasso died. He notes with reverence that Picasso's sister, Conchita, died at age 14. In Ravell’s words, this strange timing makes him feel as if a part of Picasso lives on through him.
