Poul Christensen

DENMARK

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“Art is everywhere - even in the places you least expect to find it.”

Poul’s camera is his brush. More than 30 years in photography, Poul began his lifelong passion in 1989. He never planned to be a photographer but a trip around the world in 1989 created a spark.

Pink Spray | Acrylic

$4,000

Pink Spray was finished just this January 2022. I love colors and contrasts - creating intensity with impact. I love when you get two experiences - the first one seeing the work from a distance and the second one, when you are up close and find all the details. And the last experience can get you new experiences for months - even years. I personally love that. The artwork is on 4 mm acrylic mounted on a 2 mm dibond and ready to hang. It has an amazing depth effect. Framed in elegant alu box

Poul comes from a creative family, his grandfather on his mother’s side was a carpenter paying at-tention to detail like no other person, he has met. His grandfather on his father’s side was a tradi-tional bookbinder who loved painting and sculpting and although his own father chose a different line of work he always loved, the art of drawing.

Bali 2 | Color Photography

$550

Bali2. I was lucky enough to visit Bali twice. An absolutely amazing magical place. Printed on Hahnemühle Pearl fine-art paper.

Through the years Poul has tried almost everything within photography - in Denmark and around Europe. Clients spanning from the new small biz that needed photos for their new website to global companies needing documentation for worldwide product launches. The experiences from working in different lines of business and with so many people in so many places have given him a gift in life.

“He turns ordinary photography into a vibrant and explosive ecstasy of color and energy.”

Many years ago, he was given the opportunity to capture art for a business and that kickstarted his creations. This has led to many more jobs and often the assignment is to correct spaces that needs energy and structure.

The X | Color Photography

$550

The X was created just recently and is a result of how I felt. Printed on Hahnemühle Pearl fine-art paper.

Insight is a mystery to me. Printed on Hahnemühle Pearl fine-art paper.

Insight | Color Photography

$550

Freedom: Poul likes that he can change the lenses. This makes it possible to change the perspective, the distance, the framing of the subject/object and capture exactly what he wants. In other words, he decides 100% what he wants to capture. This is the freedom he has gained by investing in his equipment.

“My experience as a professional photographer and the eternal search for the perfect light and the best angles are my most important tools when creating art. Most of my work is abstract – a few oth-ers naturalistic.”

“He loves the conversations with people, he loves the process of getting the right idea, finding the location, the light, the angle and working with it in postproduction.”

In the same session he can capture the details of a caterpillar and secondly the surrounding colors and structures - and if he needed to capture more i.e., from 120 m above in the sky - he could cap-ture that too with his drone. He loves that freedom. However, don't think you'll find many ordinary landscape or portrait image amongst his collection.

So beautiful | Acrylic

$3,000

Poul also does paint with real paint brushes on real canvases, when he wants something very specif-ic to start from. His approach is different to that of a painter, as he uses his paintings as the basis for his pieces. The painting is not a piece in itself.

And now for the nerds! The Fuji 100s delivers a 16 bit 101 mgp photo which means 281 trillion pos-sible colors. If that does not make you happy, he doesn’t know what will!

Poul wants to bring you a perspective - make you feel - create a corridor to a creative universe that puzzles your mind - touch the creative part of you - make you feel positive, happy and curious - raise awareness and start a dialogue of how inspiring nature is and how essential it is for our survival in more ways than we know.
