Letizia Pecci

GERMANY

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“In my art, Nature acts as a mirror of the inner world of every human being…”

Florence, the cradle of Art, is Letizia Pecci’s homeland. There she has accomplished her studies in Literature, Art History and Philosophy and worked as event planner, before moving to Berlin with her family.

Underwater world | Mixed Media

$1,100

The underwater world is not only the one under the seas and the oceans, but the one hidden inside us. It is a universe full of colors as well as feelings, which are often difficult to grasp. In the painting, images of leaves can be confused with images of fish gliding by, beautiful and elusive. The colors are deliberately blurred but on the whole brilliant. Once again playing between the abstract and the real.

As a young girl, she has always been attracted to drawing and the use of colors, which she perceived as the most intimate freedom of expression. Never stopping painting and experimenting, while attending courses helped keeping her updated to new techniques and trends.

Anima | Mixed Media

$750

“Anima” is the Italian word for Soul, as the essence of every human being. It is the flame of life, a beautiful and unique flower that does not die but regenerates itself

Letizia’s greatest source of inspiration is nature in all its forms, while often referring to her homeland, Tuscany. That land of quiet, harmonious hills and almost unspoiled nature is reminiscent of the undulating motion of joyful paintings. Even patterns and printed motifs used by Letizia, recall the "geometry" of Tuscan nature that, while maintaining its wild character, is tamed by men with vineyards and olive groves. However, both in her landscapes and in her flowers she recreates a fantastic, dreamlike, almost fairy-tale world, where dreams, aspirations, desires can be achieved. A place where you can escape but above all where you can feel good.

“For me, the use of collage represents an infinite world of possibilities of expression…”

In particular, the landscapes are often images of distant places, but for Letizia they are always reachable. The road is steep, long and often not without obstacles but always as white as a sheet of paper that needs to be filled in. It is not easy to reach one's dreams and goals but it is not possible to escape the call to try to achieve them.

Fairytale flower | Mixed Media

$670

A flower that belongs to the world of fairy tales that does not exist in reality but lives in the world of each of us. Each leaf is a wish, a dream and an aspiration.

A magical and abstract flower, which is like a fire, full of life and colors but also of dark sides. It is a fight for survival.

Magic flowers 1 | Mixed Media

$910

Landscapes are therefore a reminder and an incentive to believe in ourselves and in our dreams, even though they may often seem unattainable or elusive. So are the works representing flowers or plants that deliberately emphasize the interplay between the abstract and the real, the magical and the unreal. They are the image of a beautiful and fragile nature, always moving and constantly changing. Letizia’s plants simulate dreams, aspirations and desires that each of us shall not and cannot renounce to. They are a hymn to the elusive beauty of nature which, like our innermost desires, must be protected and never ignored.

Letizia Pecci views her paintings as 'landscapes of the soul.' They are moving shapes, some brighter than others, which are blurred, almost elusive. Every shape and texture reflect a feeling, but also an aspiration, a dream, an ideal, a pain and a loss.

The lines in Letizia’s paintings are always undulating and never straight and precise. These seem to chase each other, intertwine, turning into dots, nets and again into new patterns and new lines. The landscapes are conceived as travelling snapshots: as if the viewer is sitting in a train or car and the surrounding landscape is flowing by.

Nature is in Letizia’s artwork a mirror of the inner world of every human being, with its contrasts, colors and patterns. A landscape, a plant, a flower and a leaf are the image of a hidden, secret, private but also magical universe. Love, joy, aspirations, dreams, difficulties and pain are the essence of each of us and are a real but at the same time abstract world.

The way to you | Mixed Media

$970

After a year of lock down with all its limitations to our freedom, this abstract, dreamlike landscape encourages us to believe that everything will be ok. The bright fluorescent colors and the natural-animal patterns underline the dreamlike image of the landscape, but above its force of attraction. The road is uphill, white almost immaculate like a sheet of paper that needs to be filled in. All around are meadows caressed by the wind that pushes us to move on.

Movement is another important aspect of Letizia's art, because for her, motion is life and always carries with it a meaning of change and metamorphosis. The lines in her paintings are always undulating and never straight and precise. These seem to chase each other, intertwine, turning into dots, nets and again into new patterns and new lines. The landscapes are conceived as travelling snapshots: as if the viewer is sitting in a train or car and the surrounding landscape is flowing by.

Kafka's landscape | Mixed Media

$970

The inspiration for this painting came from an interview, that Kafka gave to a newspaper.
Kafka thought that pain and joy live inside us as if in two separate rooms. When our joy is great, it makes so much noise that it can be heard even in the room of pain, which can cloud that joy. But when the room of sorrow resounds loudly, the room of joy remains surprisingly silent, because unfortunately joy is deaf.
Pain and joy in life are as a web of threads that connects all our experiences.

In paintings depicting plants or flowers the wavy lines emphasize the movement of coming out, emerging, and transforming. The plants and flowers in Letizia's paintings are an explosion of colors. They are petals and leaves that differ from each other both in shape and color, seem to yearn to break free, to detach themselves and transform into something new. Bright colors help to emphasize the vital aspect of each image and even when they are less defined or faded they bring with them a sense of unreachable.

This painting belongs to the collection "Landscapes of the Soul".
My Tuscan countryside, normally soft and relaxed, is shown in an unusual wild version. A quiet soul always hides a wild heart.

Wild countryside I | Mixed Media

$550

The brighter colors in Letizia’s artworks help emphasize the vital aspect of each image.

Wild countryside II | Mixed Media

$550

This painting belongs to the collection "Landscapes of the Soul".
It is the second painting of a wild Tuscan countryside.

In her creative process she loves experimenting new materials and therefore mixing different mediums, in particular acrylic paints, alcohol ink, various markers and above all collages, which is a relevant feature in Letizia’s paintings. She uses self-made prints on fabric paper, tissue paper and rice paper to add texture, structure and depth. On the canvas she processes several layers deliberately fitted each other, where paintings with acrylic and alcohol ink are mixed with the mentioned medium.

These two paintings belong to the collection 'Postcards of a journey'.
They are photos, impressions, abstract images of the journey that is life. A journey full of contrasts, colors and dreams to be conquered.

Beyond the road I and II | Mixed Media

$480

For Letizia, the use of collage represents an infinite world of possibilities of expression especially playing with the different patterns, which alternate and overlap. The goal is to find a balance and a union between the patterns printed on semi-transparent paper and those drawn and painted.

Spring 2021 | Mixed Media

Spring 2021 is the "after-Covid" spring, so different, still insecure. On the one side there is the desire to be born again and to restart living, but on the other side fear is a common perception. Everything has changed, even the perspective of things around us is different: a tree with its leaves and sprouts. But nature teaches us that life goes on, different but goes on.

“My art is a hymn to the elusive beauty of nature which, like our innermost desires, must be protected and never ignored.”
