Karen Sachs

USA

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“In Paint Your Essence events, Karen helps others explore their imagination. She guides them to new self-discoveries, turns them into creativity, and finds a way to express themselves in ways they wouldn't even think.”

Karen Sachs began painting 25 years ago after moving into her first apartment. Unable to find what she thought would be the "perfect" painting, she took matters into her own hands. Soon paint exploded onto the canvas in a fantasy of color, forms, and textures.

Living Big | Acrylic

$1,250

42 X 60

LIVING BIG is a 42 "x60" acrylic canvas painting I painted live on Facebook a little bit every day for about 30 days. I secretly called this piece my big ass canvas because LIVING BIG showed my journey of learning to trust myself, play big in my life, and create inner happiness. The painting is full of color and energy and reflects my love for living life to the fullest. When you purchase this piece, you're not only getting a beautiful work of art but also a part of my heart. Enjoy!

As an award-winning contemporary artist, Karen's portraits capture hidden pieces of the human experience, exposing parts we regularly keep hidden. She paints animals to show how much we can learn from our furry friends, while her landscapes explore the beauty of life. Abstract pieces allow Karen to express openness and creativity freely.

Creative Soul | Acrylic

$350

10 X 13

The young elephant is playful and often found frolicking in colorful mud. CREATIVE SOUL gives us permission and positive energy, strength to love unconditionally, and wisdom to live life fully.
Creative Soul is double framed.

Her art has a unique style that blends creativity and curiosity to indulge her creative needs and gain insights as she permits herself to PLAY! As a Personal Discovery Guide, Karen has created Paint Your Essence Workshop that allows Creative Souls to learn about themselves through their art. She facilitates group Paint Your Essence Workshops, one-on-one clients, and corporate events. Since Covid, Karen has been conducting her events online and is now international, where she has had participants from Canada, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, and Scotland join in the fun.

“Electric in its vibrancy, no color left unexplored, she feels color can carry emotion and uses this as a foundation for her art.”

In her mid-30s, Karen Sachs moved into her own apartment. She was excited about this change in her life. She had a blank wall space above her couch, screaming for attention. If the wall could talk, the wall wanted her to put up beautiful artwork. This blank wall symbolized Karen feeling vulnerable, scared, empty, and slightly alone. She needed to cover up those feelings – cover up the wall space.

Purple Mountain Majesty | Acrylic

$350

12 X 12

PURPLE MOUNTAIN MAJESTY is (3) 4" x 12" pieces where you can be connected but not connected simultaneously. What a mysterious place to be. With the idea of walking up a mountain, we elevate our consciousness, thoughts, emotions, and aspirations to a new viewpoint. It is a majestical connection to the unknown, wisdom, and mind. What else is possible?

Looking for a bit of inspiration in your life? Check out THE PERFECT BUTTERFLY. This beautiful, one-of-a-kind painting was created live on Facebook and is simply stunning. I struggled to make it perfect, but I found freedom once I let go of that need. This beautiful painting is a stunning example of letting go of perfection and finding space instead. The bright colors and whimsical design will surely bring a smile to your face, while its deep meaning will stay with you.

The Perfect Butterfly | Acrylic

$350

16 X 20

Karen went shopping. She looked at many different "art" stores; all they carried were posters. Nothing excited her enough to spend money. She was freelancing in the entertainment business at this time in her life and a co-worker, tired of her whining, suggested that Karen purchase a pre-stretched canvas and paint to create her own piece of art. Really? Was that an option? Karen never knew that was even a possibility.

Karen is passionate about being creative and has once said, "Imagine how your formerly "blank canvas" life can be if you splash it with your expression and play. Permit yourself to express, have fun, explore, and share your essence with the world."

“She always has fun playing and has opened herself up to new opportunities to express herself. Karen has added glass mosaics, oil pastels, and pottery to her repertoire.”

Karen remembers the day she was going to start the painting. It was a late Wednesday afternoon, and the phone rang. She heard the disappointing words that they didn't need her anymore for a production job. She hung up the phone and walked over to the blank canvas. She was in chaos, overwhelmed, and anxious about not having a job anymore. To add to the upset, she realized that she had missed an ample opportunity for a job that she should have said yes to immediately. The disappointment was added fuel to her already burning angry fire.

I Have No Words | Mixed Media

$395

14 X 16

I call this painting "I HAVE NO WORDS" because it has scrabble tiles on it, and I am a visual person. If I can't picture the word, my brain doesn't formulate the word into sentences. I am all over the place with my speaking. Sometimes I am "scrabbling" around trying to speak, put sentences together, and make sense of what I am saying.

She picked up a paintbrush, and as she put paint on the canvas over the next two hours, she completely lost track of time. When Karen came out of her creative zone, she realized she felt peace, direction, and space. In retrospect, Karen discovered that she could connect with her true essence through painting. A new door opened, and she chose to walk through, leading her to a couple of decades of personal development.

Good Morning, Sunshine | Pastel

$620

26 X 34

Good Morning! Today you have a choice to make it an unforgettable day.
Good Morning! Sometimes, the things you are hoping for come in unexpected ways.
Good Morning. Life is a journey. Enjoy the experience of life. Have an extraordinary day!

This original painting experience changed Karen's life because this process released the drama inside and around her. She liked this feeling so much that she continually found new ways to use art as a tool for herself to heal, and to discover new possibilities. When Karen does art, anything can show up. It always does.

REPEATING WORDS is about being mindful of our internal chatter. How I or we speak to ourselves is so important. The Universe listens and hears both our conscious and unconscious thoughts. REPEATING WORDS reminds us to fill our minds with genuine loving beliefs about ourselves. Oh, it would be awesomeness if you said “I love you,” and Repeating Word or your inner parrot said that back to you.
An award-winning piece of beauty.
11”x14” Glass Mosaic, custom frame.

Repeating Words | Glass

$530

14 X 11

“The experience taught her to express her emotions and open her heart for her true essence to shine and become Karen.”

The Cycle of Life | Glass

$530

23 X 19

THE CYCLE OF LIFE is an award-winning glass mosaic with pottery. It is a beautiful and intricate work of art that celebrates the sun shining upon all it does for flowers, butterflies, and our lives so we can grow, thrive, and live fully!. When the butterfly (and us) feed off the nectar, they spread pollen and create new seeds; we extend love and light. THE CYCLE OF LIFE is a great way to bring some life into your home.

Karen started creating art and she found the path to self-discovery. Although the process was not smooth for her, she continued pulling away layers of herself and discovering all the different beliefs and feelings. Karen then began painting them through her artwork. The main thing is Karen found the loveable and beautiful Karen. Continuing this journey of combining art and personal growth, Karen discovered that she wanted to help others love themselves. She holds the space for others to get to their true essence. Hence Paint Your Essence Workshops was born.

TREE OF LIFE is one of my favorite glass mosaics. Trees are about strength and grounding. I see branches are our arms reaching upward as high as we can climb to reach our unlimited potential of infinite possibilities inviting us to start climbing upward. They can hold us up while striving for greatness, wisdom, and experiences that move us through life. What branch do you want to start climbing?

Tree of Life | Glass

$485

20 X 20

What a great way to live a more extraordinary life! Karen is all about playing. So, let's play for a second - if you closed your eyes right now, can you imagine a blank canvas in front of you? What do YOU vision for yourself? What would it look like adding in a splash of your favorite color(s)? Then finally, step away from the painting. Do you see your expression of YOU? What else is possible now? What can you create for your life? That is Karen guiding you to your essence! Awesomeness!

Fun with Balloons | Glass

$620

20 X 20

FUN WITH BALLOONS Another glass mosaic and ceramics. This piece takes me back to when I was a child. I loved playing with balloons and seeing how high they would go. I wondered where they would land. They are also fun to use to celebrate people.
This piece is also an award-winning mosaic. 20”x20” Glass Mosaic and Ceramic, custom framed and matted.
