“As I am an artist with autism, I feel I perceive the world in a different manner from others.”
Jemsy Pradun is an artist based in Chicago, Illinois, and she specializes in fine arts; specifically, marker on paper and the occasional graphite piece. With her autism, she believes, she feels on a deeper, more intense level. Pradun takes things literally versus understanding the deeper meaning behind the message
Snake Eyes | Marker
$2,500
24 X 18
Snake Eyes displays many aspects of other art Jemsy has created. With a blend of colorful graffiti, “blahbs”, and animation depicting the universe, she was able to create a world where Snake is God; and as any God, Snake sees and knows everything. This piece represents that concept with eyes, as that is how we humans see.
This is why with her art she attempts to show a deeper, more thought-provoking perception of a concept. This is the best language that she can speak. Predominantly inspired by her cousin, who was extremely talented in animation; she began drawing and participating in school art competitions at an early age.
Micheal | Graphite

12 X 9
Micheal was an assignment for a course, taken by Jemsy in college. It revolved around creating a graphite piece from a realistic picture. Since Jemsy is in love with aquatic life forms, she chose a somewhat simplistic picture of a jellyfish. After completing the final project, she didn’t know how to title the piece; as it was just a jellyfish in water. But, once her mother saw the project completed, she stated, “Oh wow, that looks like Micheal Jackson doing the moonwalk!” Thus, the name Micheal.
Jemsy won first place in most coloring contests at school. She also won a poetry contest in which her work was published by the local newspaper. However, at that time, she was very passionate about dancing and this is why she completely stopped creating visual art for a whole for thirteen years.
“During those thirteen years, I performed parts in nutcracker ballets, while also attending a pre-professional ballet academy.”
At the age of sixteen, two serious surgeries were performed on Jemsy’s feet. After undergoing the surgeries, she lost her previous passion for dance. She was emotionally lost in ‘purgatory’ for a few years afterward

Kraken v. Loch Ness | Marker
$1,000
17 X 14
Kraken v. Loch Ness is the depiction of two powerful and mythological creatures going against one another; a battle for superiority.
As this piece was produced during a course in college, Jemsy analyzed it for the perfect title. That is, until she thought to herself, “the sphinx is an ancient representation of the modern nose job. ”

Nose Job | Graphite
$1,000

One day, unbeknownst to her, Jemsy rediscovered her original passion for art. On this day she had turned to face a bookcase in her room; filled with many things including sketch pads and pencils. She thought to herself, ‘Why not?’ and proceeded to create.
“After practicing for many days and nights, I further grew my ability to express emotions visually rather than physically.”
“During the year 2020, as I was about to graduate from high school, the pandemic hit. During that time, I grew more stagnant with an eternal feeling of boredom and loneliness.”
As she incorporates her emotions through her artworks, Jemsy’s work has become a resemblance to how her mind visualizes emotions and circumstances. It’s almost like she feels what the art piece portrays. Typically, she uses many bright colors to show the vibrant perspective of life and how we view it. Just imagine not seeing color, the world would merely be a dark and depressing place.

Jungle Juice | Marker
$750
17 X 14
Jungle juice is a term in modern times for a composed drink with a plethora of alcohol, juice, and candy mixed. This jungle, however, consists of a plethora of colors, because the creatures drank the juice.
Jemsy, obviously, had no clue where to start in terms of recognition, as she was only admired by her close friends and family. To help her with it, her mom would consistently take her to Blick Art Materials for her art to be framed. This led to her hearing about a local art competition; inspiring her to release her art to the public.

Blahb | Marker
$1,800
14 X 17
Blahb’s design is strictly derived from the first art style jemsy learned. Simply drawing blobs surrounding one another until they fill up the space desired.
Like most other artists, Jemsy didn’t win her first try at the contest; nor her second or the third. However, on her fourth try she, to her surprise, won a merit award. This award landed her a spot in the gallery’s quarterly magazine. The motivation led by this achievement allowed her to start her art career.
God(s) is represented in many forms throughout differentiating religions. For ‘All Seeing Eyes,’ the belief of one, all powerful god is represented. This time in different colors and species, all combined into one; and as previous descriptions have stated God is all seeing

All Seeing Eyes | Marker
$1,500
12 X 9
“This event, on positive terms, led to the core of my motivation, as I now want nothing but to make my father, my mother, and especially myself proud.”

Mocos | Marker
$1,500
12 X 9
Mocos in Spanish means booger. This another title dedicated to my mom’s comments. The character to the bottom right of this piece looks similar to a booger. Which inspired the reaction, “Ew, Mocos!” This, piece involving an abstract oceanic ecosystem has no particular meaning behind it.
Although this achievement may have been a quick one for her, many struggles occurred in Jemsy’s life after it. She has experienced many tragic and unfortunate events in the course of her lifetime. This includes her father's passing, which happened when she was only eighteen.
Face Reveal has more to do with identity than anything else. The eye and mind can perceive many different aspects to its identity; whether it’s cyber, physical, or spiritual. Jemsy began this piece with the intent to show depression in color, however, the final product is comprised with all components of life; both the good and the bad. Many aspects may be complicated and overwhelming, but, in the end they end up forming one masterpiece.

Face Reveal | Marker
$1,200
14 X 17
For more thought-provoking pieces Pradun uses black and white realism versus eclectic abstract animation. Her goal is to complete and receive a bachelor's degree in the field of fine arts and her Instagram is b_l3u. However, her general aspiration is to be an inspiration for those, like herself, who need the understanding of others to emotionally survive in this world.

The Last Supper |Marker
N/A
12 X 9
This piece is an abstract expression of its inspiration, The Last Supper. Containing many lifeforms gathered together to enjoy what is left of human society, The Last Supper represents demise followed with a new beginning.
“I believe, that expressing one’s emotions artistically allows us to understand and visualize what exactly we are feeling.”
