Our Tree | Acrylic

During a bike ride with both my partner, John, and my ninety-plus-year-young father, we stumbled upon a breathtaking Banyan tree that we simply had to capture on film. After returning to Boulder, Colorado, I was inspired by John's photo and used it as a reference to create a stunning gallery accepted and published original painting.

After working in a few hair salons she left to open the first stand-alone skin care studio in Boulder. She named it the Jamie Gordon Skin Care Studio. Jamie owned and operated her studio for the next thirty-six years. After Covid's impact restricted her ability to see clients she permanently closed the studio. Following her passion for painting, having taken classes since 2000, she turned this hobby into her next business venture.

The Wave | Oil

This painting was a journey of exploration into the world of oil painting. As I worked, I found myself becoming more relaxed and calm, allowing the individual drops of paint to guide me. The bottom of the wave is shrouded in darkness, creating an air of mystery giving rise to the drops, each varying in color and size. Every unique drop has its own identity, much like of us as individuals.

Jamie Gordon has always been drawn to art and esthetics. She believes in the power of art as an integral aspect of the human experience, allowing individuals to connect with each other on a deeper level and express themselves in ways that language alone cannot.

“I believe that art is an incredibly powerful force in the world. It has the ability to bring people together, to inspire them, and to help them see the world in new and exciting ways.”

Jamie's artistic style includes vivid colors, expressive lines, and bold contrasts. The appreciation of Jamie's work by fellow artists and jurors reinforces her sense of fulfillment. Feedback and recognition validate her efforts and motivate her to grow and evolve as an artist. “The freedom to create art is a privilege that I am incredibly thankful for. Not everyone has the opportunity to pursue their passions in the same way that I have and I am grateful every day for the chance to create art that is meaningful to me. I believe that this freedom is what allows me to truly express myself and to create work that is authentic and powerful.”
