"My journey as an artist began with the belief that creativity knows no bounds. From high school to the Basel School of Design, I embraced every opportunity to learn and grow."

The sculpture contrasts motion and calm, outer harshness and inner gentleness. While the storm swirls and rages on the outside, a place of stillness is maintained on the inside.

The vortex symbolizes the idea of infinity. In it lies both chaos and unpredictability, and the harmony of the universe.
Esther's artistic path took a significant turn when she joined the studio of Gyula Skultéty, a well-known artist and physical anthropologist in Switzerland. Under Skultéty's guidance, she delved into the world of clay and honed her skills in the precise anatomical modeling of human and animal figures. Her training extended to mastering techniques in creating figurative and abstract shapes and working with various glazes.
"Working alongside Gyula Skultéty, I delved deep into the world of sculpting, mastering the intricate art of anatomical modeling and exploring the diverse realm of figurative and abstract shapes."
In the year 2000, Esther Link made the decision to step out of Skultéty's studio and forge her own path as an independent artist. While she retained her fondness for clay and porcelain as primary materials, she began to experiment with wood, plaster, and mixed media, expanding her artistic repertoire.

Esther further enriched her artistic knowledge by participating in various workshops held in Switzerland, Germany, and the United States. The workshops in Penland (NC) in 2016 and Haystack (ME) in 2017, under the tutelage of Barbara Cooper, proved particularly transformative for her. These experiences challenged her to work with wood, paper, and other materials, providing her with fresh perspectives on natural forms and artistic vision.
"Workshops by Barbara Cooper in Penland and Haystack were pivotal, opening my eyes to new artistic horizons and transforming my perspective on natural forms."
"In 2000, I took a bold step towards independence as an artist, allowing me to experiment with various mediums, including wood, plaster, and mixed media."
Over the past few years, Esther Link has showcased her work at numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Basel and the surrounding area, as well as in Germany. Her talent and dedication to her craft have earned her recognition, including a first-prize win at the Arte Binningen show in 2017 and a subsequent nomination in 2022.
