Denisa Prochazka

CANADA

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“Through my sculptures, I seek to capture the beauty and complexity of the human experience, illuminating the fleeting moments of emotion and sensation that define our lives.”

As a clay artist, Denisa’s sensations and inspirations are very closely associated with the feel of her environment, the feel of the earth, the textures of leaves, plants and trees, and the unique shapes and rocks that spread across the fields and mountains. This natural, physically dense, and solid reality is reflected in the creation of her sculptures, shaped with her hands and the movement of her fingertips.

Warrior's Heart Wish | Mixed Media

21 X 17

This sculpture symbolizes the power and strength of a woman warrior, yet the vulnerability of the heart which resides in all of us. The artwork is an expression of female empowerment, healing and nurturing of our sacred world. Healing is becoming aware of your own resilience.

For Denisa, the human form is the ultimate vessel of expression, a conduit through which she can channel the timeless themes of femininity, empowerment, and resilience that are at the heart of her work.

Embrace of Indigenous Wisdom | Mixed Media

58 X 58

This large sculpture relief was inspired by the Ancient Mayan Calendar when I traveled to Mexico. I was fascinated by the different interpretations of its meaning. The Mayans, being one of the most technologically advanced civilizations of their time did not necessarily believe that the world would end in the year 2012. One of the interpretations I came across was that it is rather a transition into a higher level of consciousness through the feminine wisdom and balance in our current time.

With its elusive quality and endless capacity for transformation, clay allows Denisa to explore the outer reaches of her imagination, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the pursuit of her creative vision.

“At the heart of my artistic process lies a deep reverence for the suppleness, delicacy, and strength of the clay medium.”

Denisa harnesses the play of light and shadow to accentuate the lines and forms of her sculptures, imbuing them with a sense of life and motion that transcends the static nature of the medium itself. Casting the final works in medium such as bronze allows the clay the process of transformation into a state of permanence and timelessness.

Dancing Wings | Mixed Media

This artwork is a tribute to one of the many missing and murdered aboriginal girls and women, who tragically lost her life at the age of fifteen. May this artwork empower and inspire the feminine balance in this world, bring awareness, resolve, renewed hope and healing to those who are affected by all those beautiful young women's lives lost.

Metamorphosis takes pulse as the transformation of Being takes place, capturing a moment of profound change. Through a tidal flow of motion, Metamorphosis carves a path from reality to the world of dreams and offers a bold new vision of magical connotations that relate to the inner psychological 'transformation of being', powerful and erotic, sensual and divine, forceful and yielding.

Through her art, Denisa seeks to promote healing and empowerment for people around the world, harnessing the transformative power of the sculptural medium to convey messages of hope, connection, and universal understanding.

“Through my sculptures, I aim to express hope and connection, conveying the physical, emotional, and spiritual depths of the human experience.”

“My creative process is both deeply intuitive and physically immersive, a journey that begins with a live model and evolves into a solitary vision as I hone my craft in the studio.”

Whether through donations to Women's Shelters, or charity projects to support orphaned children in Gabon, Africa, Denisa is committed to using her artistic talents to make a positive impact on the world.

Gabriela Clesca Vallejo's fascinating facial features of mixed race, her immense beauty, and a spark of personality made her the perfect inspiration for this sculpture. Gabriela is of half Dominican and half African- Congolese descent. She has graduated from an International Development and Civil Law at the University of Ottawa. Along with her education, she is also an International model, winning the beauty pageant of Miss Haiti 2019.

Ultimately, her goal is to advocate healing and female empowerment for people around the world.

She believes that art has the power to transform us, to inspire us, and to bring us closer to the truth of who we are as human beings.

The physical dimensions of the earth transcend into the dream world of the divine feminine. Dreamer's Muse, stimulating the subconscious embodiment of desires and dreams, penetrates the ancient knowledge of the mind and spirit. The Muse, the giver of the creative spark, has a profound change on the human potential to awaken our imaginative minds, unbound.

As an artist, I want to continue to expand upon the idea to sculpt orphaned children around the world, to be seen, to become visible, to bring these children to light and a deeper awareness around the world so that others can be inspired to help.

Through her sculptures, Denisa hopes to contribute to this rich and enduring legacy, leaving a lasting impact on the world and inspiring others to explore the limitless potential of their own creative spirit.

The female figure portrayed being bound to a large feather taking ascension to a higher spiritual plane, symbolizes women's independence and freedom. Incorporated is the ancient symbol VEGVISIR, which the Icelandic people used to draw on their ships as a stroke of luck to guide their way home.
This sculpture was created to inspire women to stand strong, to find their path navigating through the rough waters of life, as a guide and blessing to find their way.
