UNITED STATES

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“Although my diverse range of work requires different creative processes and mediums, they all are influenced by the same subject matter: freedom.”

Britnie is a versatile Maryland-based artist who captures energy through light and vibrant colors.

So This is Paradise | Oil

$550

Light and a balance of warm and cool colors were used to create a feeling of romanticism in this composition. I also used a variety of brushes to capture the movement of the water and solitude of the beach. I focused on principles of contrast and balance, creating an experience of true paradise.

Growing up and currently still living near the Chesapeake Bay, her landscapes and abstract work as a whole, are inspired by the beauty of nature; often depicting the absence of human presence, liberation (set free), and freedom (being free).

His Promise | Oil

$350

All of the events within the past year of 2020 inspired me to paint this piece, and I incorporated rainbows as a sign of hope and promise of better times to come.

Though her diverse range of work requires different creative processes and mediums, they are all influenced by the same subject matter: freedom.

"My abstract paintings are defined by my method of mixing."

In her landscapes, she portrays the personality of nature through the use of exaggerated brushstrokes and abstract colors.

At Peace Again | Oil

$275

This piece was inspired by the Eastern Shore, depicting sailboats at sunset on the Chesapeake Bay. In this composition, I have used a balance of warm and cool colors to capture the peaceful, tranquil mood and the feeling of the day coming to an end.

For this painting I wanted to not literally focus on the perception of vision, but rather paint an interpretation of the word. When I produced this painting, I wanted to capture vision in the way that most of us wish the world could be.

Sight and Sound of Paradise | Oil

$385

For example, the use of dramatic horizontal brushstrokes for a warm analogous red, yellow, and orange sunset sky.

"One of the most used techniques in my abstract paintings is the method of mixing individual acrylic colors, floetrol, silicone, and water, followed by a blow torch."

"The water may follow with a gradient wash of blue to turquoise with a dappling of white paint for the mist to capture the crashing waves. This creates a surreal paradise for the viewer to reflect, escape, and appreciate all the beauty that surrounds us."

Her abstract work consists of a variety of unconventional techniques to capture elements of color and texture.

Cheese! | Oil

$330

This painting was inspired by the singer, Sia, and her theatrical use of wigs– often hiding the performer's eyes or facial features to allow more focus on the performance, energy, and personality of the character. I concentrated less on facial features, capturing the exuberant energy of the child.

The artist often explores different mixing techniques to create her abstract artworks.

Spirit Wave | Acrylic

$125

"Spirit Wave" is an abstract fluid painting of a wave. I chose this particular name to compliment the dramatic free-spirited energy of the wave crashing into the sea. In this composition, I used a more monochromatic color scheme with white, to create unity and a feeling of rejuvenation.

Together, the chemical reaction creates cellular forms.

This piece symbolically emphasizes the impact we have on our earth such as nature, wildlife, the gradual decrease in resources, as well as the relationships with each other as human beings– given the past several months of chaos that we’ve endured together.

Earth in Distress | Acrylic

$190

"Household objects such as strainers, straws, and frosting spatulas often become my tools in creating my works."

Molten Lava | Acrylic

$120

I used a warm analogous color scheme, along with a tree ring pour technique to symbolically depict hot lava. In a tree ring pour, all colors were poured in a circular direction. In addition, I incorporated black to add a sense of dominance, movement, and balance throughout the composition.

She often enjoys using various types of household objects to manipulate the design in her artwork. Britnie loves how different objects can be used as different tools to create new designs and textures.

The simplistic design and youthful colors of this composition reminded me of my childhood and teen years growing up. During those years, you have new experiences, are starting to find yourself, and are also battling many emotions– some emotions sometimes dominating others.

Nostalgia | Acrylic

$23

Although this technique is methodical, it still results in unknown mysterious outcomes that give off exuberant energy throughout the composition.

Beautiful Treasure | Acrylic

$23

This painting is a representation of an abstract terrain. Neutral tones such as brown, tan, gray, and black symbolize land. In the center, I focused more on incorporating turquoise, pastel colors, and hints of white representing a stream flowing from one side to the other, creating movement.

"A lot of my work is inspired by the scenic beauty of nature."
