Abstract Still Life

Anna Ilievska

USA

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“Among all the beauty that nature holds, flowers amazed me the most.”

Anna Ilievska, a rising artist, delves into the human experience through the use of oil mediums to portray nature, abstract still life shapes, and still-life. Her works offer a captivating exploration of emotion and perspective.

Banana | Oil

$7,000

30 X 24

Anyone who has peeled a banana may have noticed how quickly the vibrant color of the peel fades, revealing different shades of brown. This artwork captures a moment in time and encourages the viewer to reflect on what lies beyond the canvas.

She was fortunate enough to grow up close to nature and had the chance to witness its glorious explosion of colors every spring, the cheerfulness of summer blossoms, the gentle, nostalgic palette of fall, and the serene "paints" of wintertime.

Cherries | Oil

$1,200

20 X 10

Summertime joy (or cherry joy?). This artwork evokes childhood memories of summer, which "officially" began with the cherry season.

As soon as Anna could hold a crayon in her hands, she started doodling on wallpapers, sofas, and cupboards as if they were pieces of paper. It was clear that art school was the right path for the creative child. Anna was accepted into the third grade of the Youth Art School in her hometown and completed her basic art education in just two years.

“My rekindled connection with nature was a powerful reminder to courageously follow my fervent passion - art.”

After experiencing a successful debut in the world of arts, Anna ultimately made the decision to transition to a career that would offer financial stability and security, rather than continuing to follow her passion for art.

Cups | Oil

$1,400

20 X 20

This artwork measures 20 inches by 20 inches. The unusual square size creates an interesting effect: the perception of the painting slightly changes when rotated clockwise or counterclockwise.

This piece features a delightful floral theme that captures the beauty of nature, with subtle underlying elements.

Flower | Oil

$3,000

40 X 30

Over the past ten years, she has gained extensive experience in various industries, including the tech sector, while living in multiple countries. This has provided her with valuable knowledge and expertise applicable to any professional environment. Despite these accomplishments, she felt that something crucial was still missing…

“I find my inspiration in the simple and understated beauty of ordinary items, using still-life painting to capture their enduring charm.”

“My work invites the observer to pause, offering a moment of quiet appreciation amidst the rush of modern life; they encourage the viewer to reflect on the beauty inherent in the ordinary, and found in simplicity, where each stroke and shadow reveals a narrative of its own.”

In the ever-changing course of life events, with its joys and challenges, endless search for answers to unasked questions, and constant strive for more, nature brought back those childhood memories and helped her pause for a moment to capture the fragile and almost elusive beauty of every moment, and the balance there exists.

Lam | Oil

$2,500

20 X 16

The beauty of nature and the delicate tenderness of a flower are experienced in various ways. This abstract artwork represents one of the many ways humans engage with nature.

Anna made the decision to pursue a full-time career as an artist and returned to school to earn a Master of Arts in Fine Art at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her oil painting abstract art creations were showcased during the 2023 Spring and 2024 Winter shows at the university. Additionally, she actively takes part in various online and offline exhibitions and art contests.

Grapes | Oil

$1,200

24 X 18

The painting with grapes in the water depicts a serene scene of grapes floating in clear water. The closer to the surface, the more vibrant colors of the grapes are, inviting the viewer to pause and appreciate the simple yet captivating sight.

Anna carefully selects and arranges objects that reflect an interplay of light and shadow, but also resonate with personal meaning. Abstract still life painting resembles a frozen moment in time – a beautiful time capsule that preserves the emotions, atmosphere, and memories of that particular moment, bringing them to life whenever it's gazed upon.

The painting with ginger root depicts a vibrant close-up of a ginger root, showcasing its intricate and knotted texture. This artwork invites the viewer to appreciate the simple wonders of the natural world.

Ginger root | Oil

$1,400

20 X 20

“The primary focus of my current works are still life and abstract paintings.”

Sushi | Oil

$1,200

16 X 20

The painting with sushi depicts the colorful and appetizing texture and appearance of sushi. Vibrant colors invite the viewer to experience the visual and aesthetic pleasures of this beloved culinary tradition.

In her oil painting abstract art explorations, Anna embarks on a journey to delve into the human experience through nature and abstract shapes. She emphasizes the beauty of the symbiotic relationship between the two. Through spontaneous gestures and deliberate strokes, she seeks to capture moments of raw emotion and fleeting beauty.

The koi fish's vibrant and lively movement against the calm and tranquil backdrop of the water creates an interesting illusion of the fish "flying" underwater.

Anna's abstract still life works are deeply personal, drawing inspiration from life experiences and emotions. Through her use of color, she brings vibrancy and life to her pieces, while her attention to texture and line adds depth and complexity. The result is the art that is not only engaging but also deeply meaningful and emotionally charged.

Bird of Paradise |Oil

The painting conveys a sense of tropical warmth and beauty, inviting the viewer to appreciate the natural splendor of the Bird of Paradise plant.

“My abstract canvases serve as windows into the subconscious, inviting viewers to explore their interpretations and forge personal connections with my artwork.”
