This vibrant depiction of two colorful sea turtles is inspired by my scuba diving adventures and passion for bringing dreams to life through art. Each turtle, adorned with rich colors, captures the diverse marine life I encounter underwater. This piece reflects my love for animals and daydreams of underwater adventures. The intricate details and fluid motion evoke serenity and freedom, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the ocean's beauty and tranquility.
Nature’s beauty is a constant source of wonder for Amanda and her artwork is an attempt to capture its many facets. From the intricate patterns on a turtle’s shell to the vibrant colors of a sunset reflecting on the water, she strives to bring these elements to life on canvas.
Lionfish | Acrylic
SOLD
X 40
This striking painting showcases a bold and colorful lionfish, inspired by my first encounter with one on the Vandenberg shipwreck in Key West. The lionfish's vivid stripes and venomous spines are meticulously detailed, capturing its fierce beauty. Known for its invasive nature, the lionfish disrupts marine ecosystems and poses a threat to native species. Through this piece, I aim to highlight both its captivating allure and the ecological challenges posed by its presence in non-native waters.
The artist’s scuba diving adventures have particularly influenced her work. The underwater world is a realm of endless fascination and mystery, filled with creatures that are both beautiful and formidable. She has often drawn inspiration from this world and channeled it on her canvas to explore the enigma surrounding marine creatures.
“Art, for me, is not just a form of expression but also a medium for education and advocacy.”
Amanda’s paintings like “Dream Chasers” and “Lionfish” are direct reflections of her encounters beneath the waves. Through these pieces, she hopes to convey not only the visual splendor of marine life but also the complex ecological interconnections that sustain it.

This dynamic painting features two yellowfin tuna, capturing the thrill of the deep ocean. The energetic brushstrokes convey the excitement and vitality of these powerful fish as they move beneath the waves. One of the recurring themes in Zirzow’s work is the impact of human activity on the environment. Using her art as a medium, she wants to raise awareness about issues that highlight the negative effects of human activities on the environment. From the extinction of endangered animals to the destruction of natural habitats, she is deeply moved by these themes and keeps discovering and promoting them through her art.
“My work is characterized by dynamic brushstrokes and a vivid color palette, aiming to evoke the emotions I feel when I am immersed in a setting surrounded by nature’s beauty.”
“My art is a reflection of my deep connection with nature and my commitment to its preservation. Each piece tells a story, inviting viewers to appreciate the beauty of the natural world and recognize the importance of protecting it.”
This theme of exploring the impacts of human activity on the environment is poignantly illustrated in her painting “The Last Straw,” inspired by the tragic death of Eko, a Malayan tiger. This piece, and others like it, serve as a call to action, urging viewers to consider the consequences of our actions on the planet’s wildlife and natural habitats. The story of Eko underscores the fragility of endangered species and the critical need for their protection.

Mysterious and still, this alligator nestles among the lush vegetation of its watery habitat. The detailed textures and shadowy tones capture the enigmatic presence of this powerful creature. The calm water reflects the alligator's stealth and patience, blending seamlessly with its surroundings. Inspired by the hidden wonders of nature, this piece invites viewers to appreciate the quiet strength and mystique of wildlife in its natural environment.
In addition to Amanda’s underwater and wildlife-themed works, she is also inspired by the serene and majestic landscapes of Florida. Paintings like “Pelicans at Sunset” and “Tarpon Coast” capture the tranquil yet dynamic nature of the state’s coastal environments. These pieces are a celebration of Florida’s natural beauty and a reminder of the importance of preserving these pristine landscapes for future generations.

The Peacock and the Crane | Acrylic
SOLD
X 11
This painting was inspired by the fable of a vain Peacock flaunting his radiant tail to a humble Crane. The Peacock boasts, "Look at my rainbow-colored glory, while your feathers are gray as dust!" Undeterred, the Crane spreads his wings and soars toward the sun, challenging, "Follow me if you can." The Peacock remains grounded while the Crane flies freely. This piece embodies the moral that usefulness holds greater value than ornamentation, inviting reflection on true worth.
Each piece she creates carries a message about the natural world and mankind’s relationship with it. Whether it’s highlighting the invasive nature of the lionfish or the graceful resilience of pelicans, her goal is to foster a deeper appreciation for the environment and inspire others to take action in its defense.
Inspiration for my painting, "The Crab and the Oyster," comes from exploring the beaches around Sanibel Island, Van Gogh’s "Starry Night," and a quote by Leonardo da Vinci: “Oysters open completely when the moon is full; and when the crab sees one, it throws a piece of stone or seaweed into it, preventing it from closing again, making the oyster an easy meal. Such is the fate of those who open their mouths too much, putting themselves at the mercy of the listener.”

Inspired by my love for fishing and the vibrant marine life, this piece invites viewers to experience the excitement and natural splendor of the tarpon's powerful leap against a backdrop of serene ocean hues.
Painting en plein air, especially during events like the monthly art walk in historic downtown Fort Myers, has become an integral part of her artistic process. These sessions allow Amanda to connect with the community, share her work, and draw inspiration from the vibrant cultural scene around her. They also provide an opportunity to capture the immediate beauty of the natural world in real time, adding a layer of spontaneity and authenticity to her art.
Painted en plein air during the monthly art walk in historic downtown Fort Myers, this piece was inspired by a recent dive trip. It depicts a vibrant octopus navigating a starry sea, blending the magic of the night sky with the mysterious depths of the ocean. The painting reflects my passion for diving and the inspiration drawn from the marine life of Florida's waters.

Her work is an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with nature’s wonders.
