Susan Fleming, a USA-based artist, earned her BA and MA in Visual Arts, focusing on Fine Art Education. Her love for art and teaching has shaped a rewarding career, inspiring students to discover their own creative voices. Through her university training, she gained a strong foundation in art design, history, and working with multimedia art. This prepared her to teach a wide range of subjects and connect with students of all ages, from kindergarten to high school.

Living Water is a gift for each of us that is continually supplied in a spiritual symbolic way from high above.
After years of focusing on teaching and supporting her family through important life events, Fleming had little time left for her own art. Now, she’s grateful to have the space of her own explorations in mixed media art, to hone her creativity, allowing her artistic expression to grow and thrive.

The creative act of an artistic endeavor itself can be powerful and mind boggeling, but the Power of the Most High and CREATION is so incredible to me and hard to put into words. This art work is a symbolic way of my understanding and expressive release of the ocean being created.

I was reading in the book of Genesis after this was created, I realized this image represents when God divided the waters during the days of creation.

To me this represents a life with defined guided edges to help stay on course.
Two quotes that resonate with Susan reflect her artistic approach. Christine Lashley’s words, “My work shifts from realism and tangible objects to abstraction and emotion. I often ask myself, ‘What is the painting trying to say?’ or ‘What does it need?’” align with Susan’s own process of creation. Robert Henri’s advice to “focus on allowing the subconscious to become conscious” also reflects her belief in drawing from inner thoughts and emotions to guide her art.

Seed Incubation can refer to many different categories in today's societies, ie: how new ideas, inventions, and business begin. My personal interpretation is spiritually related, meaning the seeds that have been planted in human hearts usually need nurturing, care, love, and knowledge in order to germinate.

As she grows older and gains more life experience, Susan finds herself becoming more reflective as one of the contemporary mixed media painting artists. The realization that spirituality is deeply connected to her art has become increasingly clear. This connectedness brings her into a meditative state where time seems to disappear. The idea that we are created in the image of God, the Creator, reinforces her belief that creativity is an innate and powerful part of being human. This understanding resonates deeply with her artistic journey.
