Nadia Khovaeva
RUSSIA
_p.png)
“My creative process looks like an impulse which embody my inner visions and senses.”
Nadia was born and grew up in Russia. Since childhood she has been involved in creative process, she loved drawing in her free time. She was inspired by Dutch still life’s, works by Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Russian painters - Vrubel, Vasnetsov, Serov, Repin. When she was 8 years old, she went to Mongolia with her parents and lived there for 5 years. On the way there, she watched with fascination as mountains, rivers, Lake Baikal, impenetrable forests, flower glades, herds of wild animals were sweeping through the train window.
We are... | Watercolor
500$
This work reflects a person's worldview in his attitude to the objective world and nature. We are all different, but we were born on the same planet and use its resources, which are finite. Each of us has his own way of life, like flowers we bloom and fade.
She wanted not only to remember all the beauty of Mongolia, but also to share it with those who had never seen it. So, she began to paint landscapes and wildlife. At this moment she realized how diverse the world was. It was a new world - a different nature, people, culture. Buddhist temples, masks, giant statues, music, ornaments everything was amazing. All these enriched the inner world and had a great impact on the development of personality
The golden dust of eternity | Watercolor
500$
The butterfly is a symbol of our immortal soul. Butterflies are the guardians of the golden dust of eternity, which they carry on their wings.
Together with the painting "We are..." it means "We are the Golden dust of eternity"
She would like the viewer to perceive art with his heart, intuition, inner vision. So that it was a portal to the essence, like a slice exposing what's inside. The material world is only a habitat, a temporary shelter in which we accumulate experience, create our spiritual values and pass them on to our generations. The main value is Love - for yourself, loved ones, people, the universe.
“Creativity became my way of life, and life became creativity.”
Nadia Khovaeva is a watercolor artist. She prefers watercolors for its liveliness and character. This medium allows her to work with the study of psychology, human memory and sensory perception of the world to the best extent. A different culture and way of life, nature left vivid memories and gave a reason to study philosophy of Asia, which perfectly complements the teachings of European scientists.

Metamorphoses of memory | Watercolor
500$
Even the brightest events can be destroyed and dissolved in the depths of our memory. But if we want to get rid of the memories, can we?
This is a statement about the human soul, how vulnerable and sensual it is when a person takes off the mask and exposes the soul.

Without a face | Watercolor
300$
The return to Russia coincided with the beginning of the 90s. Nadia entered the Volgograd Academy of Architecture and Construction, but she had to postpone the creative process for a while to work and help her parents. She dreamed of her own workshop, where she could finally do what she loved. It was a long journey that led her to her origins. Dreams do come true; it is important to choose them correctly!
“It is important to me to ‘reassemble’ the viewer's optics so that they perceive art with their inner vision, relying on the irrational, on intuition.”
“The paintings remain forever, like prints, in my memory, which would become the subject of my research in the future.”
Nadia has always been concerned about the themes of human existence, self-knowledge, and hidden human capabilities. She studied philosophy and psychology. As an artist Nadia is interested in a person's worldview, their self-awareness. She explores the mechanisms of memory, deep-rooted beliefs, emotions and memories that are stored in the brain system and control people's lives on a subconscious level. Memory acts as a link between a person's past, present and future. The picture becomes a game experiment that allows her to reveal the traditional optics of perception of reality and explore more deeply the inner space located beyond the mind.

The new monument | Watercolor
500$
In my work, I want to focus on how everyday realities are changing, how the digital world merges with our lives. Will the new monument become a protection and a talisman, like the "Motherland", calling for unity for the sake of saving future generations, or vice versa? I would like everyone to answer this question themselves and create this image in their minds.
Our world is a seamless collage, a cinema with the effect of immersion "without gluing", an ideal picture, the consistency and geometry of which are clearly verified and "protected" by our diet. She allows the inner and transcendent reality to come out. Her creative process looks like an impulse to embody inner visions and feelings. The viewer subconsciously picks up these vibrations, his feelings and emotions serve as a response. In this way, there is a transformation and movement of energy between me and the viewer. Watercolor is the medium that tends to be irrational himself, creating man-made effects.

Rhythms of the city | Watercolor
500$
The first rays of the sun penetrate the arteries and make the heart of the city beat.
She depicts images that carry a visual and/or semantic inversion, as a result of imprinting, the so-called "memory card". She looks at the inner world of a person from different sides: as the unity of spiritual and bodily experiences; as the unity and struggle of opposites; as a universe in which everything is whole and perfect. From the point of view of metaphysics, a person is an energy that carries movement, transformation and continuity in time. She is convinced that by learning about the inner world, a person can make a new leap in their development.
Water has a memory. She keeps the reflections and carries them to another world...

The River of Oblivion | Watercolor
300$
“I think of my work as a slice or impression, exposing layers invisible to the eye, ‘accustomed’ to life.”

Looking to the future | Watercolor
500$
In my work I want to reflect the female view. Today, a woman has to be strong, self-sufficient, but at the same time keep her beauty and femininity and be confident in the future.
The fluidity of wet-on-wet watercolor techniques helps to create this way because the images turn out to be not entirely man-made. Those images are partially processed by the unconscious and subconscious. Also, this medium enables her to show transformation and metamorphosis. This is similar to the memory mechanisms that she is researching on. Her works are the result of a kind of “imprinting”, so-called memory map, deep-seated beliefs, emotions and reminiscences that are stored in the brain's system and govern people's lives at the subconscious level.
Every day is unique and will never happen again. What awaits us tomorrow?
