“Mitsu has a soul that desires to create and share beauty with the world.”
For many years she expressed her artistic vision with paint, on canvas, and even on walls and ceilings transforming her childrens' rooms into magical kingdoms and outer space fantasies and a bathroom into a medieval castle complete with cracked stone walls covered in climbing ivy.
Condon Bank | Other
$1,080
Coffeyville Kansas was once a bustling Cowtown and the site of the infamous bank robbery by the Dalton Gang in 1892. On October 5, at 20 minutes after 9 in the morning, three members of the gang entered the Condon Bank and demanded money from the safe. A quick-thinking teller told them the safe was on a time lock and could not be opened until 9:30. The delay allowed the townspeople time to arm themselves. They subsequently killed the gang members as they tried to make their escape.

After an accident that required the rebuilding of her hand, she searched for a way to continue to share her dreams of light, color, nature’s brilliant beauty, and exquisite timeless history.
Cow Crossing | Color Photography
$100
This picture was taken on a foggy morning as the sun slowly rose, the aroma of autumn wafted past, and the last lingering leaves drifted from trees with bare branches. The fall harvesters have finished, leaving this Missouri backroad lined with stubbled fields. The first time I saw the crossing, cows were meandering across the tracks while the engineer patiently held the train, allowing them to move safely to the other side. The cows failed to appear on subsequent trips back with my camera.
She eventually picked up a camera and now uses her artist's eye to pinpoint the miraculous dwelling among the mundane, to expose the color residing in the shadows.
“Mitsu’s photographs invite the viewer to easily picture themselves in the scene she framed.”
She allows all of nature to tell its own playful tales of grasses tickling the trunks of stalwart trees, ripples of lake water timidly brushing a rocky bank and retreating, a brilliant moon hanging over treetops illuminating the world for night creatures.

New Colors | Color Photography
$900
Spring has arrived with bright bold colors, each one highlighting and enhancing the others. A riot of beauty in the colors of the rainbow. Spring, a time of new energy, desire to change things up a bit, and get back into the swing of things. A time to shine up the lens of the camera and start clicking. When the world seems to be painted by a dream, wake up and live it.
Beautiful, puffy clouds were blowing briskly in the wind from Kansas into Oklahoma. This day felt like I could touch the sky. I became a child again, smiling, reaching, and gasping in amazement at the shapes the clouds took as they raced across a rural sky.

Two Lands | Color Photography
$75.00
With a click of the shutter, she raises history from obscurity. A dilapidated church leaning into its own past shares remembrances of days when pews were filled with the faithful and hymns echoed off the rafters. A rusted railway trestle spanning a gorge invites the viewer on a journey of the mind. And an abandoned dust draped farm with a lonely windmill prompts the seer to long for simpler times.
“She takes advantage of the contrasts between light and darkness, seeping shadows and lambent light to infuse her pictures with sparkling life.”
“Looking at her pictures, one can almost hear the wind calling to the flowers to sway and protect their fragile petals as it rushes past.”
One can imagine sitting on a moist bank and feeling the coolness of still lake water on dangling feet or finding themselves almost shivering when looking at one of her wintry landscapes in her photograph.

Land Crossing | Color Photography
$114.21
Winter in Elk Lake Kansas as the temperature dipped to below zero. A moody sky dancing with hard gusting winds. Nature created a beautiful painting, and I was lucky enough to be on hand to snap a picture.
In her photographs, one can hear the distant whistle of a steam train and the rumbling of iron wheels as it crosses an ancient railroad trestle. One can imagine the cries and excitement of townspeople in the midst of a bank robbery staged by the Dalton Gang. And one can feel the wind in their hair as they watch clouds roll past a stunning moon flashing into a dark night.

Singing Moon | Other
$870
My eyes were drawn to the immense bright moon hanging in the night sky. It shone down on this warm night on Grand Lake in Oklahoma where many lovers of beauty drifted on our boats listening to music and admiring the incomparable view.
Her pictures make the viewer nostalgic for an earlier time when we had the time to watch a sunset, to run wildly through a field of flowers, to count the seconds between rumbles of thunder and lightning flashes and guess when a storm would arrive, and to lay contentedly on the grass and watch fluffy drifting clouds take on myriad shapes.
Bright pops of summer colors are slowly fading, making way for the fierce shades of autumn. A cool morning breeze is tempered by the warm sun as it makes its way up into the sky. I gaze out the window with a cup of steaming coffee in my hand and my trusty camera on the table, always within reach, wondering if rain is coming.

Autumn Ending | Color Photography
$210
“In my photograph, one can smell stacked hay in an old red barn and hear the clanking of rusted hanging tools.”

In the Wind | Color Photography
$125
The wind pushes the colors, sending them drifting and separating. The hues of life hanging on the breeze. Flowers float past, rising and dipping on gentle swells. There is beauty in nature, in life if we slow down to appreciate it.
Mitsu’s photographs are showcased in an ongoing revolving window gallery of her work in Independence, Kansas. Her work also was in Missouri Bicentennial 2020-2021, She received 4th place Honorable Mention Award for her landscape in the Art Show International Gallery competition.
Small puffs of dark clouds hover, teasing with a misty rain over an idyllic park with a pond for fishing and trails for hiking. Low hills and unexpected valleys dot the landscape. Stop, rest and enjoy the moment.

Passing Storm | Color Photography
$230
Her photograph of the old church in Picher, Oklahoma was chosen from competition for the Creamery Galleria in Springfield, Missouri. She is invited each year to display her photography at an art show at George Washington Carver state park in southwest Missouri. A website Mitsu Rural Art.com is under construction to showcase her work and make it available for purchase.

Autumn Time | Color Photography
$156.32
Shawnee Trails, MO. with over 100 miles of trails for aimless wandering and taking in the beauty of a crisp autumn day. A trail leads to a leaf-covered pond of clear water illuminated by a gentle sun. Long grasses adorn the bank, inviting one to relax and view fulsome trees sporting pops of red leaves.
“Her pictures evoke longing, contentment, peace, joy, and a desire to simply sit for a moment and just be.”
