Dov Fuchs is a multifaceted artist who seamlessly combines photography and digital art to create captivating and thought-provoking works. Born in Haifa, Israel, in 1948, Dov has always possessed a keen eye for capturing the extraordinary within the ordinary.

Deep inside the 75-years old man,is hiding a 12-years old child who, occasionally, emerges from the depth of the old man's soul and smiles at the world, an action that the old man does not remember any more how to do it.
While Dov's professional background lies in aerospace engineering, he may be rightfully referred to as a Rocket Scientist, where he excelled in a leading Israeli aerospace/defense company until his early retirement in 2007.

An elderly man, who is standing inside the lower part of a huge hourglass, is desperately trying to block the flow of sand from the upper part with his fist, but he fails and time continues to flow uninterruptedly.
As a married man, a proud father of two sons, and five grandchildren, Dov's art reflects his personal exploration of the challenges and anxieties that come with growing older. Without any formal education in photography or digital art, Dov's innate talent and relentless pursuit of creative expression have propelled him to great heights. Dov's recent artistic journey revolves around self-portraiture, with him assuming the role of the protagonist in surreal and peculiar scenarios set in imaginary locations.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, Dov is an accomplished writer, having published two novels, and is a member of the esteemed Israeli Painters and Sculptors Association. A set of Matryoshkas consists of a wooden figure, which separates at the middle to reveal a smaller figure of the same sort inside, which has, in turn, another figure inside of it, and so on. Similarly, the (invented) Patryoshka is a egg carrying a man holding an egg in his hands, which hosts inside it a man holding an egg in his hands, and so on. What is the secret of the last egg?

Internal conflicts can occasionally turn ugly. In our image, the internal bad guy punches the internal good guy in his chin, sending his glasses into a spiral trajectory, with sad consequences.
Dov’s images form a cohesive body of work that delves into various psychological and existential themes. Through the presence of multiple versions of the artist in each image, a focus on self-exploration and introspection becomes apparent. Symbolism, surreal elements, and visual metaphors create a dreamlike and introspective atmosphere throughout the collection. The passage of time and the intricate relationship between past, present, and future are central motifs. The juxtaposition of different ages and life stages, such as the young child and the old man, serves to highlight themes of aging, nostalgia, and the continuity of the self across time. Hourglasses, melting clocks, and the futile attempt to control or halt the flow of time further reinforce this exploration.

The recurring imagery of two versions of the artist engaged in different activities or confrontations suggests an exploration of opposing forces within the psyche or the struggle between different aspects of identity. This theme adds psychological depth and complexity to the overall collection. Moreover, the incorporation of surreal and fantastical elements, such as walking up walls, nested identities, and allusions to mythological figures like Sisyphus, introduces ambiguity and encourages viewers to question reality and conventional notions of self.

Our modern-time hero is following the footsteps of the mythological Sisyphus, who was condemned by the Gods to roll a rock up to the top of a mountain, only to have the rock roll back down to the bottom every time he reaches the top.
In summary, the entire corpus of images offers a visually captivating and thematically rich experience. The combination of introspective exploration, the passage of time, duality, and surreal elements invites viewers to reflect upon their own inner worlds, perceptions of self, and the broader human experience.
Time flows endlessly and we sit an watch it flow, until it suddenly stops. And this is the end of everything.

His creations resemble patchwork quilts, harmonizing fragments and elements from diverse sources. Beginning with his own photos, Dov integrates images from online repositories and occasionally incorporates segments of artificially generated imagery. These fragments undergo a process of extraction, transformation, distortion, and manipulation before merging into the final composition. The culmination of Dov's work challenges viewers to question their preconceived notions and perceive reality from a fresh perspective. Some of his photographs serve as a conduit for social protest.
