DoT is a self-taught painter whose quest comes from a desire of finding self-love and freedom. In a society where we run after time, money, and recognition, she feels the profound need to reset her meter by painting softness in a figurative style.

In a multitude of colors, the dialogues intermingle to create connections, new ideas, solutions, infinitely.
When she paints, DoT opens a door that leads to a magical creative ritual, transforming the gesture into a journey. In her small studio, much like in a film, her thoughts rise and swirl, the walls disintegrating to finally reveal the ultimate connection with herself, without social mirrors, eyes closed.

It is when she practices her art that she goes to meet all these characters who live inside her. She sees them emerging and vanishing in front of her, taking away their pasts. The protagonists superimpose themselves on the canvas and release stress, fatigue, and sadness … until the calm state manifests and causes a long and deep breath.

My forehead leaning on the window that separates me from winter, the sparkling frost reflects on my skin, makes up my face and makes burst a multitude of crystalline thoughts that fall inside me like pearls of ice.
February, in Quebec, is freezing, but in its cold, it brings forth closeness by the fire, winter dreams, white poems. For me, it becomes a creative refuge, buried under snow feet, in the silence of my workshop.
The visionary knows how to recognize the infinite through which are threaded countless destinies.

DoT particularly enjoys acrylic paint, because it is perfectly suited to her natural impulses of brushes and spatulas, and without the time constraints of drying. Bewitched by the richness and bright pigments of acrylic paint as well as the ease of mixing and flexibility, DoT is always excited to discover new colors.

She is always in search of vivacity, and applies metallic accents on the canvas that sparkle on the surface, offering the sensation of bathing in a surreal light. She also uses texture gels to give relief and movement to her paintings.

Inside me there is a secret place that no one else knows. I often find myself there to calm my fears and find peace.
For DoT, the lines, which she draws with a brush or a spatula, are like crossing threads showing the infinite possibilities of encounters and destinies. These paths, visible or not, intrinsic to all her works, represent a background of the initial inspiration that defines her reflections on the world, the creation and the power of the thoughts, etc.

This painting invites to lightness. The suspended woman lies on the canvas as I search for space, wind and air.
Then come the countless little square dots that distill a feeling of bursting, vibrations or dreams that floats around her characters, as if the interior were deployed outside. Each “dot” she applies to the canvas remains a purely intuitive gesture in the state of the moment; like a trance; and the colors are unveiled gradually, sustained by the resonant emotion.
The song of source flows joyfully in me and revives my desire to be free.

A woman who fully assumes herself and loves herself as she is, deploys the queen she has always been.
Among contemporary painters, she feels inspired by Marc Chagall, whom she admires for his aerial and surrealist vision of the world. She is touched by the poetry of his works, the symbolism, and the universal themes that he approaches with such purity.
When silence is heavy and that I want to change the atmosphere, I create a music that plays its notes in my head.
